Thank you, Cuba, the country that amply demonstrates that world-class health care needn't be the sole preserve of the rich.

If it's world class, then why don't all the liberals relocate there? They have the best healthcare, income redistribution, communism, it might be a paradise for them.

b4f,

Why is universal healthcare provision such a threat?

Too fair?

Why is universal healthcare provision such a threat?

Too fair?

People sharing a common burden to bring down the overall cost for everyone, and increase the quality for everyone as well? How stupid are you to even think that's reasonable. Absolutely ridiculous.

@Strangerland,

How silly of me. Hating others is so much more rewarding.

How is it fair when people like me that have money pay MORE, a lot More than their fair share and the middle class are struggling everyday to pay for these new adjusted premiums a lot more than previously told and promised and then the people at the bottom are NOT paying anything! that is NOT the definition of fairness. But I forget liberals believe in the "you didn't build that" logic. Everything has to be a collective. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates shouldn't have gotten credit for anything in your eyes. If Obama wasn't so obsessed with his radical income redistribution threats and focused more on just dealing with the system that excluded the uninsured, many of us that didn't have a problem with healthcare, the president should have never touched and changed the entire system, only for the disadvantaged ones. Only 822 more days until the madness of this president comes to an end!

If that were true, so I have a question, if it's so good, why aren't the Democrats that are running for reelection run on Obamacare and all of its so called benefits? Dems are staying away from that topic because they know ANY mention of Obamacare and now that people are seeing their newly adjusted premiums skyrocket how is that fair when a lot of people can't even afford it or for next year will be a political death sentence. Again, if the healthcare and the overall service a real quality package, the Dems would keep the Senate, hands down, but as such.....Yes, Obama is NOT running, but all of his issues are. Remember, there is a reason why the Dems are probably going to lose the Senate.

Amazing that this should even have fallen in America's lap. Most West African countries were colonized by either the British or French, although the Portuguese and Germans also held some land at times in this region. Well, somebody's got to do it.

One silver lining might be a long-overdue rapprochement between Cuba and the US - and an understanding that, in a pinch, neither the EU nor the Chinese are willing to lead.

That's a good question. The answer isn't the one you are looking for though. American voters are lemmings, easily brainwashed. Remember, we are speaking of the people who voted in Bush jr. a second time. Even though the polls have shown that most people, including GOP members, are satisfied with Obamacare, and that price escalation has been reduced, you still have people cursing president blacky for treading on their freedoms by making them pay for something that other people may also benefit from.

Campaiging on Obamacare would hurt a lot of democrats in spite of the success of Obamacare. Which really doesn't say much about the American voters.

But we had a leader at least that had guts and wasn't spineless and didn't allow others to define him.

if they like Obama, Americans are smart, if they don't, they are ignorant. ROFL! It must hurt libs that the ONLY thing they do is hurl insults Or that the people are finally waking up and realizing what fools they really were to buy this guys BS. Funny, what country do you come that it's people are so superior, Stranger? But you probably wouldn't want to say, methinks. Lol

As for the last statement you made....affordable? As I keep saying, most liberals are really bad at math.

(CNSNews.com) - The cost of the Obamacare subsidy that the U.S. Treasury will pay on behalf of people who earn under 400 percent of the federal poverty level and who buy a government-approved health-care plan on a government-run health-insurance exchange will increase by approximately 8-fold in its first ten years of operation, according to the latest budget estimate from the Congressional Budget Office.

Here are the REAL FACTS!

Wow, this thread on the Ebola outbreak quickly got bogged down into an argument over U.S. healthcare, lol, well, I hope Obama can get Russia and China on board here.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Good point. Problem is Russia or China don't have anything to gain by helping Africa, not to mention, they wouldn't risk ANY of their soldiers to go in and do humanitarian work, which they could easily do. Now if there's an outbreak in their countries watch them jump to life to do whatever they can to stop the spread.

Hah! And look where that got you. A failed war based on lies, destroying a nation, killing tens of thousands, and having not one single positive result. Bush was worse than any Muslim extremist that has ever lived. For that matter he is likely responsible for more deaths than any other Christian extremist that ever lived.

As for the rest of your post, you should try reading things outside the bubble sometimes. You're a victim of the brainwashing I was talking about in my last post.

CNSNews.com?! Ha ha! CNSNews.com was founded in 1998 under the name "Conservative News Service"; it was later changed to "Cybercast News Service" because, you know, fair and balanced. Funny enough, their top five stories today regard Ebola. After the elections, let's bet they'll forget about it altogether.

Fine by me.

Actually more people died in Afghanistan under Obama and his surge, droned more, and is continuing the bombing, which will kill more people, add to that the soldiers lives he's putting at risk to bring back to the US a deadly virus doesn't bother him in the least. Once again, the man's priorities are all over the place.

Not brainwashing, more like accepting reality. We have a president that could give a crap about the country or it's citizens and cares more about what happens in Africa than his own country of birth. If Obama were 1/3 of a man he claims to be, he could have tried to persuade Russia and China to help out in those Ebola stricken countries, but as weak as he is, why would they even think of sitting down with him to take him halfway seriously. The victims are the people that keep drinking the Obama flavored aid and with all the calories and additives, there is NO way they can ever see through this charlatan.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

See, public health education is awful in America. Chugging down giant Cokes while babbling about Obama flavored aid being the source of calories. Disturbing. You can practically smell their disappointment that nobody is rushing to enact the wildest proposals of the extremists. Shut down Africa! OMG!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

(Bush) didn't allow others to define him

No, they just misunderestimated him.

China don't have anything to gain by helping Africa

Again, gotta love that blinkered worldview. Africa is teeming with Chinese engineers building infrastructure for a continent forecast (after adjustment for Ebola) to grow 5% this year.

So basically, you're saying ALL news outlets should show a liberal or center left position, NEVER hearing an opposing view from a conservative point, it should be disregarded, that's essentially what you are saying. Again, this is exactly why, most of the left, far left and even in talk radio, libs are being looked at as a complete partisan joke.

@sense

No, they just misunderestimated him.

Which was a good thing, unlike this president which we've greatly overestimated.

And let's hope China gets more involved with the Ebola effort, God knows they have the capabilities, if they are a so called caring nation, it's the least they can do.

b4f,

Understatement. He had us all howling, right to the end.

And that's the reason why his antics with this entire Ebola screwup is just one more nail in the coffin for the Democrats. But his Sainted anointed majesty knows everything better than the entire world it seems.

@bass4funk

Actually wealth inequality is worse now than it was about 6 years ago. There is more than just a false dichotomy here when it comes to the distribution of wealth. Finally, I hope more money is allocated to research to find a cure for this terrible virus.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Ebola is an issue for every country in the world. At lease all the governments are fully aware. Probably, not quite with the general population in each country.

Each country have limited resources to deal with the problem in their own country, let alone in another. USA even if wanted to cannot afford to be effective in support of the program at its source.

From all indications, USA has a major problem. It cannot even care for it within its own country. Too many people are under government care already and there are not enough liquid funds to fund any major campaign against Ebola at its source. Too many even within the USA are not able to get proper medical care already and the medical community throughout the nation is in turmoil with lack of proper funding to even care for the existing population in each community.

Problem in the USA is too many already living off the government that cannot collect enough taxes from the remaining population that are independent of government subsidies. (Sadly, this too is happening in our host country, Japan.) Making matters worse, major companies are leaving the USA due to unfair taxes and regulations. That is why international funding is being sought. It is not to get a coalition... But, definitely HELP must come and get there ASAP. Coalition is too late.

Idealistic Humanitarian reasons aside, to survive All countries must first find the ways and means to protect itself then find that extra to get at the source. There is NO guarantee that attacking the source in this well traveled and open network of a world would prevent it from coming into one's country. It has already happened to USA. So one must wait and see...

Good luck Mr. Obama.
