Barack just gave a hell-of-a-speach in Berlin, Germany.

I think John McCain's voting Obama this year also. < :-)

  • SuperLib at 03:50 AM JST - 25th July

At least Barack Obama has the guts to speak to other governments, even when it's unpopular unlike when george bush just refused to talk to Iran at all.

I don't think you really understand Obama's message. He's going to demand that Iran give up their nuclear work (a position you do not support) or else he's going to put more pressure on them (a position that you do not support). I happen to support both positions so I'm more than happy with Obama talking to Iran....in that way. Based off of what I've read from you in the past you actually disagree with both positions. Were you even aware of that?

Has anyone mentioned that GWB abruptly reversed six years of administration policy by dispatching a high-ranking State Department official to join in consultations between Iranian and European diplomats over nuclear negotiations?

  • Helter_Skelter at 04:17 AM JST - 25th July

Did Obama say he would negotiate or did he say he would meet?

What difference does it make? You don't meet or negotiate with leaders who praise neo-Nazis, hold holocaust-denial conferences, support terrorism, and threaten to annihilate the Jewish state. Imagine Obama and Ahmadinejad taking photo ops on the White House lawn - haha!

And what's with the Hitler card? Are you out of substantive argument?

Just stating the obvious. But I understand how this parallel is lost with those who blindly support the enemies of America.

I heard what he said SuperLib, I may not agree with everythging he says, but at least he's not saying I refuse to negotiate until they give up all nuclear ambitions. At least he's willing to sit down at the table.

Betzee, screw george bush. After six years he's finally doing something. Only to try to get Bomb...Bomb...Bomb John McCain in the Whitehouse.

I may never agree with his total approach, but he's a damn sight more realistic then bush. < :-)

imagawa By all means look at what the pro-Israel folks are like, and the folks who would NOT talk with Iran: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/07/24/inside-hagees-controversin114741.html Give me peaceful, logical, rational discussions by Obama with the Mullahs anyday, instead of this fantasmagorical religiosity with which America seems to have been afflicted these days.

    Helter Skelter,

Thank you for your response. It reveals the rhetorical nature of your earlier question and marks it as insincere. If you implacably believe that there should be no dialogue with leaders such as you describe, you needn't bother asking the question.

I well believe that you don't meet or negotiate with such leaders. And on that account I am very glad that you are not heading my government. Even Bush expressed a willingness for the US to negotiate under stipulated conditions, none of which involved them giving up the views and activities that you allege.

Your juxtaposition of present day Iran with Germany in the 30's is a parallel in your own mind and is obvious only to the minds of lazy thinkers generally. It is intellectually loathsome, as is your suggestion that I support the enemies of America because I do not see things your way. Try to lift the nature of your discourse.

Barack just gave a hell-of-a-speach in Berlin, Germany.

As much as they are dying to do so, they can't vote in our elections. It's kind of sad to see them swoon the way they are.

    Is democracy dead in Europe?

    Who is their Obama?

  • adaydream at 11:25 AM JST - 25th July

As the German's were walking away they were interviewed.

One said, "He'll be a great leader."

Another, "I have a new messiah."

    They were impressed. < :-)

  • SuperLib at 02:23 PM JST - 25th July

At least he's willing to sit down at the table.

Right. He's willing to sit down at the table and demand things that you do not support and apply consequences that you do not support.

just saw a group pic of ASEAN foreign ministers. They were doing a group hug - Condi to. Mynamar's part of the group so what does the press have to say? They conveniently cropped the photo....

  • Sarge at 11:41 PM JST - 25th July

    "I have a new messiah"

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

  • adaydream at 08:53 AM JST - 26th July

You know Sarge, I didn't make that up.

That was a German citizen who was interviewed. I know, silly statement, just reporting it like I heard it. < :-)

talking to the persians(thats what they like to be called) is an outstanding approach, by all means talk to them, rememeber all these so-called enemies america has,in the past we helped their regimes, then we destroy it after they said "no to almighty america. why cant brown countries have nukes, why cant we dialogue with the persians. Obama has guts, lots of it, i commend him, and i feel mccain might even vote for obama, like someone mentioned here earlier.....

  • Blue_Tiger at 10:15 PM JST - 30th July

As if Obama and his mantras will do any good. Iran is like a snake: quietly going about its business, then, at the right time, when everybody thinks there is peace and safety, it strikes.....
