"To the extent that Taliban members directly threaten the United States..."

The Taliban have never directly threatened the US. The whole US campaign was bungled from the start. Walk away. Afghanistan is worth absolutely nothing, strategically or otherwise. Just ask the Soviets or colonial British.

Yes, the reason for the Afghanistan war was to avenge 9-11 and destroy Al-quaida. Seemed to make nice progress at first then the Taliban became targets through their resistance...and there we stay. While Al-quaida simply crossed borders to regroup and continue. The war was with Al-quaida, follow the bad guys.

And while yesterdays major US debate was decriminalizing certain illegal immigrants the Obama administration released even more bad guys from Gitmo. Kinda sneaky timing I would say.

Well, the president did say from the beginning that this was "the right war" as opposed to Iraq...

Obama is like another democrat president: LBJ. Difference is, the American media lap dogs let the current one slide.
