Tough indeed. Obama has even lost Keith Olbermann. Olby is fond of likening his opponents to Nazis and yesterday went as far as saying Obama was like Chamberlain in his "appeasement" of the enemy. No, not the Taliban and Al Qaeda, but Republicans and the majority of Americans. The wheels have come off the short bus and the libs have become unhinged .

Isn't that what the Democrat Progressive caucus has been demanding for the last two years, an increase in the amount of taxes paid by the public. Didn't VP Biden say that it was everyones patriotic duty to pay more taxes?

Comically stupid politics, comically stupid economics. God bless the corporate welfare state, for blessed are those with their noses deepest in the trough. And to The Ben Bernank, please deliver us from the evils of bankruptcy by sending us more free money. But we don't want to pay any tax on it, because that be socialist, and we are capitalists. As in, you give us capital and we enjoy it.
Just another nail in the coffin.

If you like bipartisanship and compromise without having to make any hard choices, this deal is for you. If you like doing hardly anything to help the economy and adding to America's huge national debt, this deal is for you too. If you also like watching Democrats get angry at President Obama, whose party currently holds overwhelming majorities in Congress, you got that as well. Otherwise, there isn't much to like about it.

The only thing wrong with the deal is that it extends jobless benefits to 2 million people who mostly are lazy and don't want to work.

Wolfpack,
You pretty much nailed how I feel about this.

Currently, House Democrats are fighting back by denying it on the Floor as is, and their message is "change it."

The Progressive Democrat Caucus never wanted to extend the so-called "Bush" tax cuts. They've been calling for higher taxes and more taxes, fees and costs for the last two years. Their demand for LARGER government demands that workers and business pay more out of pocket to pay for the increase in government and cut consumption. They will not allow the tax cuts to be extended during this lame duck session.
