    There was a time when the US could win a world war in four years. America is now so entangled and confounded by the regulations and lawyers that getting just about anything done is a near impossibility.

    Just a testament to why humans are too stupid to be fooling with nuclear power. "We don't have a plan for permanent storage of the waste that will be generated and will be radioactive for thousands of years? Oh well. Just get those plants operational and worry about the waster later. I am sure we will think of something! Surely politics won't get in the way of something so important!"

    Yucca mountain sounds like a great idea although I don't have all the details. It sounds like it is getting scrapped because Obama made a campaign promise to win Nevada and that is about all. Not the feasibility of the plan and not the necessity. But just to get votes. Humans are too stupid to be fooling with nuclear power.

    Yucca Mountain is a dormant volcano. That could be a problem in the future.

    Wolfpack, name one war that America won in four years. WW2 was an allied effort, and America only joined near the end.
