Actually, President-elect Obama went on faux news and subjected himself to being in the same room as bill o'reilly for an interview (to quote Joe from Family Guy, "I scrubbed and I scrubbed, but...they just don't make water hot enough!").
You may not have heard about it because o'reilly couldn't nail President-elect Obama with a "got'cha" moment.
Sushi - Why has the stock market reacted negatively to Barack's election? I don't get it.
If you can't understand that because one event follows another it does not mean the first event caused the other, well, I guess you will never understand that a rooster crowing at dawn does not make the sun rise.
Why don't you learn a little about causal relationships and get back to us.
You may not have heard about it because o'reilly couldn't nail President-elect Obama with a "got'cha" moment.
It's very hard to do that with someone like Obama who can speak so eloquently about the issues, yet is clever enough to not really say much of anything when all is said and done. It's truly a gift.
uh oh, the guy says he has spoken to all the living presidents and then after realizing the stupidity of his statement, he throws Nancy Reagan; another little old lady, under the bus to try to cover up an obvious gaffe.
after two years of being on the campaign trail where he threw his own beloved grandmother under the bus, I would have thought this guy would be a little more adroit in front of the cameras.
uh oh, the guy says he has spoken to all the living presidents and then after realizing the stupidity of his statement,
There is no other way to say it. All of the former presidents say it that way. You can't say you have spoken to all the presidents. Now, that would be stupid. Show me one past reference of how a former president or our current president would say it without saying "living" or "alive today."
The comment about Nancy Reagan was the gaffe. When you say he was "try[ing] to cover up an obvious gaffe" there is absolutely no substance to that. One gaffe.
all Obama had to say was "yes I have spoken to all the former presidents". there was no need to imply that he only spoken to the living ones. it was such an obvious blunder that he recognized it immediately and instead of laughing at himself he tried to cover it up with some clumsy reference to the former first lady's use of astrology. America has to face reality, they elected an arrogant a-hole to the oval office.
Taka, so far all we know about Obama's intelligence is that he knows how to read a teleprompter without mangling it up too bad. Bush was a horrible orator but does that make him stupid?
goodDonkey - I see you couldn't answer my question: Why has the stock market reacted negatively to Barack Obama's election? The news of his election was supposed to instill confidence in the market.
So, Obama thought Nancy Reagan held seances, did he?
Sarge, I did answer your question I was trying to be subtle. You have no idea what the cause of a daily fluctuation in the stock market is. Claiming to know is just dumb. Baiting me with off topic questions is quite your style. Like I said in my answer, you don't understand causal relationships if you ask such questions. There is absolutely no difference in asking why the stock market reacted negatively to the election of Barack Obama and why the sun comes up after the rooster crows. You cannot establish a causal relationship between the two events.
all Obama had to say was "yes I have spoken to all the former presidents"
That is incorrect language usage. The statement is not true. Just because you want a lower skill level of language does mean that educated people have to compromise. I admit there are a lot of people on the web that agree with you. Some of them don't even realize that your solution is incorrect. It is a false statement. Obama did not speak to all the former presidents he only spoke to the living ones.
Maybe Bubba speak set the bar for language usage in the current presidency however you will find that having an education and using it will be nothing to be ashamed of in the future. If a president does not use a qualifier as Obama did in his statement he is showing his lack of intelligence.
I have conceded that the comment about Nancy Reagan was unnecessary. It really was not that big of a deal but I guess some people are disparate enough to grasp at anything negative about the President Elect to console their bitterness.
okay gooddonkey. keep making excuses for the guy. it will make make it easier to pick away at him and your self perceived superior intellect at the same time.

I can assure you that I will be looking forward to that moment. I am ripe with anticipation at the very notion.
Taka313,
I saw the Obama interview with O'reilly. Bill threw him actual questioins that I would have wanted to hear him answer besides what is his favorite fooe (aka Larry King). Check the polls, most people in America when interviewed stated that Fox was by far the most fair in reporting both candidates.
Funnier still, is when the ombudsman for the Washington Post has come out to say that they did show an unfair bias towards Obama.
O'Reilly was not looking for a "gotcha moment." And by the way, McCain and Palin did not appear on his show. So if he was so in the "tank" for them (Reps), why didn't they show up on his show?

No, I think Hannity and Limbaugh and others have all the fuel they need from their inner hatred at anything that is not Arch Conservative Extremism.
