That would have been something to see -- moreso the Kings of Blues than Obama singing, but still would have been a fun part.

Buddy Guy...BB King...awesome! It would have been more awesome if SRV was still alive and attended.

I see the media is "vetting" President Obama again.

sailwind: "I see the media is "vetting" President Obama again."
The media is talking about a concert that he had the luck and pleasure of joining. His commentary on what it is to be president is second-place. Lighten up -- maybe YOU could use some blues or music that fits you yourself! :)

Smith,
The Blues depress me. But it is actually good to see the Whitehouse truly honor the musical style.
Jagger got the president and his wife up out of their seats, swaying and clapping to the music, and picked up the pace with “Miss You,”
Nothing screams better for the spirit of the blues better than the 1978 Rolling Stone Disco Hit "Miss You".

That's an honor to have so many legends playing the blues at your house in the same time... For me there's nothing like going home and playing some improvised E major slowhand blues on my 40 years old Yamaha guitar...

Sailwind, if you're looking for a Stones song of that era that would make a good straight blues, "Waiting on a Friend" would be much better.

I'm glad I got to see Jimmy Vaughan, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and B.B. King jam together on stage.

That's awesome!! I envy you. I wish I could have seen JV and SRV play live. I have seen BB King a few times and after seeing him in action, you truely understand why he is an icon,

I was hoping to head Sailwind off at the pass but you have to get up pretty early in the morning if you want to top his media conspiracy theories.
Sailwind has willfully forgotten that the press treated George Bush much the same on John McCain's birthday when Georgie was strumming that six-string guitar, even as New Orleanes drown,...and they gave him a pass on it.
Willfully trying to purge information from your brain so that you can make a partisan argument is the sign of a radical.

I hope the musical community doesn't hold the recent armed raids on the Gibson Guitar Company (and a factory shutdown) against President Obama or Attorney General Holder. All of us, even musicians and artists, need to understand how important it is to be part of the push for social justice.
If you, or BB King, or anyone travels in America with a guitar having any parts made of wood, even if you got the guitar secondhand, you have to be able to document the provenance of that wood piece. It is the law of the land and the government wants you to respect their authority on that one.

And to make it worse, he's gonna let Reverand Wright take your guns away from you. That's right. Rev. Wright. Whatchagonnado?

Was that satire? The musical community most certainly DOES hold the armed raids on Gibson against Obama and Holder. And for good reason. First, the Indian government cleared the wood shipped to Gibson and have said they did not violate any Indian law. Second, it's been six months since the raid, and not only have no charges been filed, but Gibson's seized property has not been returned to them. That's two raids, no charges, and no returns of seized property.
Social justice, my calluses! It is corrupt injustice and environmental fascism.
