If there was a true concern then fossil fuels would have been fazed out or well on there way out.

Like junk food and ciggies would be, if they were really bad for us? Or maybe fossil fuels are making a lot of people rich, just like junk food and ciggies, and 'true concern' doesn't get a look in?

not one country has met there emissions cut target. Go figure...

Not one country has eliminated poverty, cancer or domestic violence either, and they're problems that have been with us a lot longer. Go figure, indeed.

Since you're obviously not stupid like the rest of us, how come you haven't told us all your sure-fire plan for eradicating poverty, cancer and domestic violence? And phasing out fossil fuels?

If I have a true concern about junk food and ciggies, I can make the personal choice not to eat rubbish and not to smoke. It's a start. To totally avoid second-hand smoke, I need bigger guns - intervention by government to stop people smoking in my space. When it comes to dealing with fossil fuels, it's a much bigger problem since so much of our lifestyle and economy is dependent on them. And the people who want us to continue being dependent on fossil fuels are pretty powerful, and their voices are heard in much higher places than ours.

So, what's your solution?

A worldwide recession puts a bigger crimp into CO2 emissions than any politically correct carbon trading scheme can ever do.

Yes, environmentalism is a noble cause, but face it, most of the ideas floating around are simply naive... environmentalists pretend that we can have our cake and eat it.

Ah, so like the repubs with their terrorist scare tactics, the dems not only have the economy but they also got global warming.

Let's see if the main media starts airing more and more global warming segments as we have seen less and less stuff on the war now that the repubs are out (noticed they have only aired bad news on the economy which there is a lot, but there is a lot of good news not getting reported)

'People aren't doing their jobs' isn't a solution, it's part of the problem. Another part of the problem is that when the politicians voted in to 'do something' actually do, they get voted out again. So to answer your earlier question, taken as a whole, in that sense, Yes people in the world are that stupid. It's the 'have my cake and eat it' syndrome; people want everyone else to make sacrifices and 'do right' so that they don't need to alter any aspect of their own lifestyle.

Absolutely! It's about time the global warmists faced up to the COLD hard fact that we humans aren't causing global warming ( or cooling ) ( or at least no more than a miniscule percentage of it ) and that we can't stop Mother Nature from doing what she wants to do to the planet, and that about all we can do is DEAL WITH IT.

And I hear this winter will be colder than last winter. What's up with that?

Europe takes the "Global Warming" issue much more seriously than Americans. Maybe it's because the American MSM don't report the accurate information about it. (spoiled or owned by the financial lobbies, like Murdock Media Empire) The people who deny the reality of Global Warming are like the three monkies. Set for release this week, a newly updated U.S. Senate Minority Report features the dissenting voices of over 650 international scientists, many current and former UN IPCC scientists, who have now turned against the UN. The report has added about 250 scientists (and growing) in 2008 to the over 400 scientists who spoke out in 2007. The over 650 dissenting scientists are more than 12 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers.
