Well, if you can't afford your house, your nice car(s), your health care (dental care included) bills, a good education for your kids, this is because you are lazy or dumb and you don't deserve any of this. If I can, this is because I was born in the right family (poor family? blame your karma), worked in school (having private teachers is good too), spent my free time studying (don't want to touch those silly burgers). If you had to go through all those steps and achieved success, well done. You'll understand that when you can afford all off this, you want to keep it. If you can't access to the elite or wealthy circles, you can still die for your country in our current wars or the next one. [/sarcasm]

Yes there is a circle of wealth. I will never get there. I am one of those people that came from a lazy, dumb family and they REALLY did not deserve anything more than the Government handout that they received every month. It's all they wanted and all they needed. I left and got MYSELF an education and a real job. Why? Cause I could. I now give money to charity and other children who actually HAVE goals. Why should I give more of my money to the Government? You are right, I do well but I did it all by myself and deserve to do with it I what but NOT what the Government wants...

    How about lowering it?

Cut funding can always be restored at a later date. I'd much rather see a complete restructuring of all government departments, a list of what each has accomplished in exchange for its cost, and plans to phase out those which have been chronically underachieving or have overstepped their intended purpose. The DoE would be a great first step. I'd also recommend splitting the DoHS back into customs (covered by the treasury) and immigration (covered by the Department of Justice) to reduce administrative costs.

Push the age at which one may collect SS and Medicare back to somewhere in the late seventies or early eighties.
