Obama told reporters Saturday that he is “absolutely committed to ending the war.”

He should be. The war is costing Americans $12 to $44 billion a month. In all over $3 trillion, probably.

"appealing to the region's large black populations"

Obama has like 90% support among blacks.

SuperLib, isn't it more important that, after everything we've gone through, that we win the war?

I heard his speach and Q/A period. The republican reporters were just going berserk asking the same questions like a dozen times. Same question, but change one (1) word. It was a feeding frenzy.

I can't wait till Lemming Day. Obama has my vote. Now let's see how many republicans are tired of this last administration's garbage. Barack will be calling a new flock of voters. The republicans fed up with lies. < :-)

I'm a bit concerned at the way he's suddenly pandering to the right.

Patriotism? Watered-down Iraq pullout plans? Gun rights?

The only reason obama got the nomination was because he ran as a liberal - not as a centrist. His candidacy was catapulted into the forefront because he promised the far left the things they have been rabid about, such getting all combat troops out of Iraq within 16 months after taking office. Heh, what is his position on that issue this hour?

obama has made so many speeches to prove who he is. Has any American voter ever seen a person having to constantly prove who they are in the race for the White House like barack obama?

John McCain. He's following the george bush doctrine right down the line. Then he has to explain how he is totally different. He's flip-flopped more then a live panfish on a hot skillet. < :-)

A.D.D., McCain doesn't flip faster than Obamas who flips faster than okra shootin' through a hound dog.

By the by, why did you choose a dunce hat on your smiley face. Personally, I'd just go with the smiley face alone.

I admire those activists working for GLBT, also those services for them. Many of my friends on the online community BiLoves have spent their careers working for equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) persons. I think they are really very great.

If you ask me, leaders need to be pragmatic and not dogmatic.

Sarge, Superlib states the war is costing Americans $12 to $44 billion a month.

He's right. You seem to think that watching your country's money go down the gurgler is something to be applauded.

    Why?

And how can you "win" when you don't have a clue what "winnning" looks like??? Bush has moved the goalposts so many times now, they were in Maine, now they're in Florida.

But, heh, you still think the game is being played in Maine. :-)

Sushi - Heck, we spend way more than that on Social Security, welfare, education, etc. etc.

Winning the war on terror means we live and live free. For example, heh, you're free to say the goalposts are in Florida.

Sage - "Winning the war on terror means we live and live free."

What, you mean living "free" as in you can be wire-tapped for free, investigated without permission, and your whereabouts tracked ?

    Heh, that's free ! :-)

    SuperLib

Sarge, Superlib states the war is costing Americans $12 to $44 billion a month.

It just went up again, Sushi. Now it's $12 to $46 billion a month, probably $3.2 trillion overall. I'm using the Sushi multiplier. I add more on with every post I make...

Superlib, that figure goes up with every soldier killed, every sortie flown, every bullet fired, every bomb dropped.

Now you're getting the picture :-)

    Sarge

SuperLib - So, is it $12 billion or is it $46 billion? Jeez, make up your mind, willya?

Sarge - "SuperLib - So, is it $12 billion or is it $46 billion? Jeez, make up your mind, willya?"

Wow, so not only do you and the other War Supporters not know

1/ what "winning" the wat in Iraq looks like 2/ how close or how far away from "wining" you are, but you also seem to have no idea at all how much of your and your family's future Social Security payments are being burnt up because you support this failed war of choice that was launched because individuals like you were sucked in by a bunch of White House propaganda press releases?

I'm sure McCain will be campaigning in some democratic leaning states as well. The whole problem with the 2 party system is that in any election there is only a handfull of swing states that will decide the election. In most cases state's party leanings are so entrenched that candidates don't bother to expend much money or effort on the other guy's turf.

I hear the crying from the republicans:

Sushi - Heck, we spend way more than that on Social Security, welfare, education, etc. etc.

Winning the war on terror means we live and live free.

We should be spending all that money on social programs.

george bush gave away $4Trillion to the richest 1% of the population. But I hear crying because we spend money on the lowly American citizen.

I guess we should follow John McCain down the continued road of george bush and give more back to the rich and screw the poor guy. To hell with children's health insurance.

And the war of choice in the war on terrorism will cost the American people more than $3Trillion. Screw those children and their health insurance. I'm so proiud of the priorities of this country, "NOT!!!!" < :-)

There are a few things I don't agree with Barack Obama. One is his concept of another tax rebate. So far what has the current tax rebate that george bush gave out done for us? Has our economy started a turn around?

What's worse is when I heard John McCain say he was weak on the economy. He's been in Washington for how long? He's been voting on issues that effected our economy and he's weak on economics? That's unbelieveable he would ever admit to that.

So what else is he unfamiliar with? < :-)

    adaydream

Yeah USARonin you got some money back, I'd have been happier if they kept their money and protected children with health insurance. < :-)

John McCain still don't know crap about economics. < :-)

    SuperLib

SuperLib - So, is it $12 billion or is it $46 billion? Jeez, make up your mind, willya?

lol Sarge, buddy....you missed my original post on the issue and probably have only seen ones I've made after that.

In three weeks time Sushi made the claim that the war was costing the US (per month) $10-$12-$15-$20-$27-$30 billion. I asked him why his number has tripled in such a short time and he's been dodging the question ever since. I decided to have some fun any start quoting war costs that go up with every post....just like Sushi does. :)

Whoops....it just went up again. The war is costing the US $10-$48 billion a month, probably $3.6 trillion overall. Stay tuned for future updates.

In other news McCain has now crashed 2-9 planes.
