My company -- which is a SDVOB (service-disabled veteran-owned business) is designing work to be performed by vets with mobility issues. My goal is to hire two disabled vets over the next 6 months, and doubling that number for every 6-month period over the next 5 years.

The tax credits have nothing to do with it.

I thought we had already taken care of this with all of the trillions spent on Obama's "shovel-ready" jobs...I guess they had something to do with "shovel" but nothing to do with jobs...Thanks Again Mr. President! We're SO DANGED PROUD OF YOU!

I like this in theory but whatever they decide the program's going to need a lot more oversight. Fraud isn't exactly a new thing when it comes to government programs but the SDVOSB abuse cases I've seen are some of the boldest examples I've ever seen outside of the medicare program.

This is actually a clever political move because it challenges the "party of no " to vote against vets. Of course some Tea Party members will balk, but when it comes to a vote how many politicians want to be on the record as opposing this?

Care to cite one example of service-disabled veteran business fraud?

I should ask to cite one of a genuine SDVOSB... Yes, there has been fraud committed by companies posing as a vet-owned business.

But since the GAO found evidence of fraud a couple of years ago, the programs are audited much more carefully today by the VA and SBA.

Alinsky would be proud of his student.

I probably should have specified but that's what I was refering to. Always best to tred lightly when there's new tax credits about.

Nothing I can do can approach what they have done.

All gave some; some gave all. We should never forget that.
