That's ok we got the Canadians or Australians or British even to go in there and root out these baddies. Good on the allies.

What an idiotic statement by Holbrooke. As if there was any difference between Jihadis in Afghanistan, Pakistan, or anywhere else, the US included.
They read from the same book and emulate the life of the same warlord.

Pakistan, pakistan people and pakistan political improvements have to solve pakistan woes.
Obama is doing good policy,by just focusing on improvements for Kabul Governance of new afghan govt, which simplifies US role in the region.
Only reason for US/EU presence is to keep US-EU safer via more US/EU friendly afghanistan. Helping afghans improve will take decades of good helpful people to people contact between US-EU and afghans.

“Our plan does not change the recognition of Pakistan as a sovereign government”
That may be what Obama says, but he has allowed US attacks on Pakistani territory on numerous occasions. Also, during the Presidential campaign he flat out stated that he would attack Pakistan if there were Al Qaeda there to kill.
