I wonder all about laws that “trample on liberty,”
Politics are politics. I'd like to see all laws that deal with executive privlidge removed. < :-)

"Obama said there were people in the room with more expertise than him"
That would probably be everyone else.

Good for Senator Obama. This should dispel some of the criticism, from his own party surpisingly, that he is often seen as being a little too effete.

YES!!!!
We are tired of the fear mongering right in the US. People want change and Obama represents that change. McCain will not be able to stand that tide of public sentiment long.
Obama represents an opportunity to clean up the mess GWB has created. And I think people want that. So time to retire the right guard for a long time.

If Obama is elected, I think he should at least review the executive orders. I would hope that he would revise or rescind any that do not serve our best interests. That is, after all, one of the reasons that we need new leadership from time to time.

Politics------ to lie and cheat to get the best for ones self... It doesnt matter who is in office.. No president is going to throw away his power for any one.. Its just talk to get a vote... Next he will tell you he will eliminate the veto

There is a difference between using a power and hiding behind a power. george bush has hidden most of what this administration has done behind executive privilge.
dick cheney has just crawled inside the law and doesn't come out except to do something stupid again. < :-)

Somebody has to undo the mess of the last 8 years....

he wants to expunge exec orders that "trample on liberty" but he voted for continuing the Bush sponsored acts that allow wiretaps w/o warrents and screening of internet use w/o notification.
I don't get it. What am I missing here?

Heck!! Does anyone really believe Obama can do better than McCain?
We have had 8 years of economic growth and increasing freedoms, and Obama wants to undo all of that. This guy can`t review anything, he clearly is not a patriot. McCain is the answer for patriotic Americans who wish to continue getting richer and safer each year.

ca1ic0cat - Read this.
For future wiretaps, the new measure would require a special court set up under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to approve any effort to spy on Americans. Authorities could act for up to seven days before seeking a warrant -- more than twice the three-day emergency period under the current law.
They need warrents. The biggest thing, it gave the telecommunications amnesty for illegal acts that the government had them do, present and past.
FairandBalanced - If you're not being sarcastic, I can see where we can have much greater years than the last 8. But, you must have plenty of money, received lot of the $4Trillion tax breaks and be invested in Halliburton. Yep, I can see where you had a wonderful year.
As for middle America, we're getting screwed. < :-)

adaydream, Middle America has ner had it so good. Secure future, higher salaries, more freedoms,. Heck i
m sure your average guy is kinda happy with his life. Dont put your faith in Obama, he is a puppet for the lib media, he will not review anything aexcept what he is told to, like a good little puppet. I hope you are more informed now.0

I am a Moderately Liberal Democrat. I want Obama elected. I'm tired of the crap from the republicans.
Have a good day, now you know where I stand. < :-)

adaydream, "I am a Moderately Liberal Democrat" Tee Hee! What a contradiction of terms, how can a socialist be moderate? hahaha
Obama is a liberal appeaser, who cannot show any strength to keep America strong and free. We have the power and wealth that is the envy of the world, and Obama would throw that all away.

Yet more wishful thinking by the rookie U.S. senator from Illinois. obama ain't gonna order squat because he'll never be given the keys to The West Wing.
But I admit the guy is a very entertaining circus act.

the only way we’re going to be successful in the long term in defeating extremists ... is if we are giving people opportunities. If people have a chance for a better life, then they are not as likely to turn to the ideologies of violence and despair.”
Gee, that sounds an awful lot like what President Bush has been saying for years.

he said those things after he lied to start the war and we were stuck in a damn quadmire for years.
Yep, he said those things alright.
It would just be horrible if Obama got the keys, huh? Better get ready for a democratic presidency.
Get ready to eat crow.
Have you seen how Obama has more to say then attack...attack...attack. That's all John McCain has. Attack...attack...attack.
That's like McCain's campaign ads, no substance just attacks. < :-)

That sort of comment tends to make people inside the government very trigger-happy. Remember "I will splinter the CIA into a thousand pieces and scatter it into the winds." -- John F. Kennedy. Need I explain further?

RomeoRamenII,
Yes, that is an awful lot like what Bush has been saying for years. And almost everyone has agreed with Bush in that. The difference is that a majority disagree with him that this can be accomplished by application of American military might and by executive orders to assume extra-Constitutional power for the president.
