Honestly, the enchanted mainstream media should resign en masse for slavishly regurgitating the ruinous nonsense and outright propaganda the WH feeds them. This admnistration is guilty of multi generational theft.

Is that an original idea or are you just playing echo chamber?

Why is it that Repblicans have zero credibility again? :-)

Obama has quadrupled the deficit in less than 100 days.
The Porkulus ("Lobbyists will find no place in my administration," - just kidding, suckaz)was rammed through in four days.
No Republicans allowed to confer, contribute or modify (So much for the promises about bi-partisanship...).
The public had no idea what was in the package - and still don't. (All that talk about putting legislation online for review - ha! It's the Chicago Way, you silly rubes.)
Best of all, the absolute sneering spit in your face - Obama has declared that oversight, for reasons the admin won't go into, has been put off till 2010.
Feeling the hope and the change?

So first he inflates the budget 3 trillion (actually, it is going to be more), and then boasts about cutting 1.7 percet of that. What a scam!

The real scam is the GOP/Conservatives backing the racking up of $6 TRILLION in extra debt under GWB, and then crying all tearful when President Obama has next to no other choice but to spend billions to fix the mess the GOP/Conservatives created.
I always get a kick out of GOP/Conservatives preaching fiscal responsibility like it means something to them.
They had their chance to be fiscally responsible between 2000-08 and failed so incredibly badly it's no wonder their party is now on the verge of total irrelevance.

Republicans knows full well that having the government sit back and do nothing would only create a far worse recession than the one their party created.
Republicans know that under their rule over the last 8 years, the GOP government they so ardently supported welded previously unseen levels of debt to future generations.
Republicans know they are to blame for the current fiscal crisis engulfing their country and world.
And yet, in true Republican form, it's always the other guy's fault.
Go figure!

The War on Prosperity continues...
Where are the cuts to Obama's little thug army, ACORN?
ACORN was given 5 billion by this admin. Payoff for registering well over a million voters in 08. Who cares if they were legal or not? They are again in the news for voter fraud. http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2009/may/04/criminal-charges-filed-against-acorn-two-employees/
In addition to Nevada ACORN now faces investigation in Missouri, Ohio, Indiana, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Florida, Wisconsin, Texas, Michigan, and New Mexico.
UAW was basically awarded control and ownership of Chrysler. "Thanks for backing us in the last election!"
It's the Chicago way...

teleprompter - "The War on Prosperity continues..."
No, that war was waged under bush. That's why more than $6 TRILLION was sucked out of the US economy, a fact you will never admit despite it being common knowledge.
"Where are the cuts to Obama's little thug army, ACORN?"
I see no mentiond of your buddy bush awarding massive tax cuts to the uber rich. Pointing fingers at Acorn makes you look like you don't have an argument, which you don't and hilariously, never did. :-)

"Obama proposed:
This one will have the GOP squealing in unison in their plush condos.
"- Setting up a $1 billion program to develop or rehabilitate housing for the poor."
Republicans are sure to oppose this one. More money for the poor means less money for the rich. The GOP simply won't stand for that.
"- Increasing child nutrition programs by $1 billion, partly to pay for a 20 percent increase in the number of food inspectors."
Wha-? When the GOP would rather give the money away to foreigners to "fight terror"?
And remember, when you are down and out, have no sense of personal responsibility, and are becoming more irrelevant by the day, recite the GOP Creed - **"It's always the other guy's fault." ** :-)

You really need to help me out here. You've been screaming now for the past three or four months now this same point.
As if borrow, borrow, borrow and spend, spend, spend was actually agaisn't your nature. I'm having a hard time because you continue to lavish praise on Obama's plan which is borrow, borrow, borrow and spend, spend, spend in a manner that made the Republicans the past eight years look like cheapskates.
Why the change? You actually support the same economic policies Bush had in place. I haven't seen you rally agaisn't Obama's economic policies at all. Bush didn't spend and borrow enough for you is the conflict here in your bashing of him and embracing of Obama perhaps? Also want to add the counter point that I know your going to make, that Bush somehow forced Obama to borrow and spend on a scale never seen before in the history of the country ain't going to fly.

Sailwind - "Also want to add the counter point that I know your going to make, that Bush somehow forced Obama to borrow and spend on a scale never seen before in the history of the country ain't going to fly."
I'm afraid it does fly, and it flies high, my friend.
GWB inherited a $262 billion (or something) surplus from Clinton. Did you see wild spending sprees under bush due to his inheriting that surplus?
No, you saw wild spending sprees because GWB and the GOP had no idea what 'fiscal responsibility' meant.
Sail, you know full well that Obama could not and can not just sit on his hands. His administration HAS to spend and spend big to fix the fiscal nightmare it inheritied from Bush.
Which proves my point.
That is unless you or any other posters think another strategy may have worked, in which case, let's hear it, because so far, the GOP and their followers have been spouting everything except constructive ideas that might actually benefit America.
Let's hear what other strategies may work.

sailwind - "You actually support the same economic policies Bush had in place."
Wrong. I support policies that support and benefit Americans - as the majority of Obama's do - as opposed to those of bush, which sent trillions offshore to aid foreigners.
There is a huge difference.

SushiSake3
Sail, just look at Obama's policies - he is amping up spending on domestic programs - that aid, assist and support Americans.
Why are so many Republicans against that?
After watching voting traits of Republicans during the GWB years, it's beyond obvious they favored standing aside as their leaders burnt through what will very likely become $3 TRILLION for the 2 stupid wars combined.
That is money going to pay foreigners to provide security, to rebuild cities and infrastructure OUTSIDE America, and to pay munitions companies to produce more weapons to drop on foreigners, much of which will ultimately kill, wound and maim thousands, increasing the already huge number of people who hate your country.
On the other hand, President Obama wants to invest in energy - for America, schools - for America, health insurance - for Americans, highways and high speed trains - for Americans...I could go on all night.

So, please articulate - if you will - what exactly is the problem about a President who would rather spend on you and your family?

SushiSake3
Amazing!
GOP supporters can't seem to argue why the Obama administration's massive spending on America and Americans is bad for them and their country.
I'm stunned.........

"So USA, you have been living high on the hog while we all lent you our money. Now please pay it back. Oh you are broke and cannot pay!" Would the world allow a bankrupted USA? Is a nation in debt free? Are it's people?
0
Sarge
One - Nah, not all Americans have been living on the high hog, I'm living proof of that.
"Would the world allow a bankrupted USA?"
The big question is, can the world live without the billions in U.S. foreign aid?
0
SushiSake3
Sarge, no that's not the question.
The question is: After 8 years of Bush and the GOP, can America pays its bills?

Funny how the far right complains about President Obama trying to end the wasteful spending.
I just can not understand how you guys can complain about the President trying to get more Americans educator better pay and benefits. You want your kids taught but you do not want to pay the teachers...
We need to slash more of the wasteful spending and help Americans get back on their feet. Maybe get some money into the retraining of adults who have lost their jobs to outsourcing.
• Ending $26 billion in oil and gas industry tax breaks, which he called “unjustifiable loopholes” in the tax system that other industries do not get.
Who here can argue against this one? End the aide to the multi-billion dollar companies. We the people need it more than the corporations.

Lets cut social security and healthcare while were at it. We already know they are unsustainable the only point of debate there is when they will finally collapse, I give SS 10 years and healthcare 15.
Then how about we make private schools a more viable option so that parents can pay exactly how much they want to to their childrens educators. Private schools consistantly out perform public ones, have significantly lower drop out rates, and graduates are more likely to go on to college.

So you guys would rather have the United States give each parent a voucher for each child in America. Now let us do the math;
On avg a cheap private school will cost around $10,000 USD per year. Right now there are around 75,000,000 (75 Million) children under the age of 18.
It will cost $ 750,000,000,000 to the U.S. tax payer, yep around 750 billion dollars. So we send every child in America to private school and "We the People" go bankrupt, FANTASTIC IDEA!
Republican thinking and know how almost bankrupted our nation, thank you for the example why.
Last year the U.S. Department of Education had a budget of $150 billion.
http://www.ed.gov/about/overview/budget/index.html
The best teachers go to the best school because of the pay. If we start paying teachers what they are worth then our future will be much brighter than now.

TheQuestion
When you look at how much the federal government spends on education (roughly $600 per household). Most funding comes from the states, Michigan, for example, has an annual education budget of 44.2 billion which comes to about $4500 per person (that takes into account the total population of michigan and does not exclude minors so the actual total would be slightly higher) in the state. And thats just in Michigan, one of the worst off states right now. Which means people are already paying more than $5000 a year on education.
http://www.michigan.gov/documents/budget/FY10BudgetReleaseFINAL267042_7.pdf
Now, when I said making private schools more viable I was thinking tax credits for the schools and the parents which would drive the cost down while giving families more money in pocket to pay for it. Kid's get good education, teachers get better pay, and parents get the satisfaction of knowing exactly where they're money is going. And if you don't have the funds to send your kid to private school than public education will still be available. Everybody wins.
