don't lose heart, but lose your money! how many politicians earn income over a million?

skip: No pain, no gain. The US needs a better health system, and Obama and his people are the only ones willing to give it.

ok, but that doesn't automatically make it better. I think many of the supporters of this have stopped and thought about how much its going to effect them personally. now its not just a matter of raising taxes, its a matter of whose taxes they are raising. You can say I am wrong, but look at it again.

skip: I'm not saying it doesn't stink, I'm just saying something's gotta give. If everyone were taxed the same it would be ideal (some might say 'Socialist'!), but fact of the matter is it just wouldn't make up the revenue needed. The people in the percentage specified can make up the brunt without too much pain, methinks.

"growing resistance to his health care plan"

Heck, the Democrats control both houses of Congress. How much resistance could there be?

Don't tell me some Democrats are coming to their senses...

Ah but the people in that percentage also include a majority of small business owners who technically make +250k but end up reinvesting it in their establishment. I've repossessed almost as much property from small businesses as I have from normal people back when I was still working that side of the financial industry, now I just audit and let the underlings take care of the dangerous part.

Hate to break it to you, but after a lull of several years people finally came to their senses last November. Well, most; you're an exception to the rule.

smithinjapan - How do you explain the growing resistance to Obama's health care plan?

Obama is just trying out his "populist" policies again. He shall fail, He is a lame duck.

I made good points on another subject last night and discovered the user Cleo is JT staff.

sailwind: I was fortunate enough to be born in a country where the health care system is actually worthwhile. However, if I were American and acknowledged, which you guys seem unable to do, how poor the system is and how many people are not covered, I would 'fork out' money to improve the system. I wouldn't like it very much, but I would do it.

Question answered. So when are you going to step up and do the same?

sarge: "How do you explain the growing resistance to Obama's health care plan?"

Simple. Republicans, for starters, are simply champing at the bit for Obama to fail, and when an issue involves money they always make sure to use it to their advantage (despite overspending the tax payers' dollars themselves in torrid love affairs in Argentina, or what have you). Said Repubs can see they've got some potential detractors and are appealing to their worser natures.

The American health care system is in DESPERATE need of reform, and that's a fact. Unfortunately, the steps needed for the reform are in the hands of the rich, and the rich don't want to do what's best for the country if it involves reaching into their own deep pockets with their short hands.

Barack has put EVERYONE on notice. The new health care bill WILL become law, methinks.

Anyways, we all need to admit he is doing a bangingly-on good job and the health care bill can pass because the green shoots of economic recovery are everywhere and people are amazed at how well he is doing compared to his predeccessor, whom google named the Worst President Ever, hahaha ha.
