It never too early to increase troop numbers. Go on Barack, introduce the draft and blow out the US national debt even further.

I'd call the way Obama's conducting the war on terror as pretty much the same as Bush conducted it. I'm calling his approach 'Bush Lite' he just talks prettier than Bush ever did but I sure the heck don't see any real difference, I hope his surge works, he has a pretty good model to follow in the way Bush handled his own surge in Iraq.

"before deciding whether more troops are needed"
More U.S. troops? How about getting the rest of the world to take some responsibility here?
"he ( Obama ) just talks prettier than Bush ever did"
With Bush, you knew exactly where he stood. With Obama, you never know what he's gonna say or do next.

So now he is getting second thoughts about the wisdom of his own great idea which he touted before?
Better late than never...

Obama was against the surge when he predicted it would be a failure, then was grudingly for it after it succeeded; now he is apparently hedging his bets on his own surge policy in Afghanistan after he ordered it. He is an amateur and confused.

The simple fact is that the United States does not and never has had control of the events in Iraq and Afghanistan. US power is very seductive and has served only to draw itself into quagmire after quagmire.
If there wasn't a chance for a certain influential segment of the US society to profit madly from war, we would not be over there very long.
Yes, like when he was against nation-building in places like Afghanistan before he came out for it.

Has anybody seen the goal post?

Nope. Obamas dream is just naive as Bushes. The only difference is the attitude of the media -- from hysterical hatred to devoted swooning.
