The cost this is a trillion dollars spread over ten years.
That's $200 billion a year, about the same as the US pays to service the country's massive debt, much of which was racked up by the GOP between 2000-2008, the same party that is against this bill.
But the GOP will - naturally - never mention this as it would highlight the ongoing hypocrisy they are spouting.

How's this for an idea? - eliminate (or at least significantly shrink) the nuclear bomber arm of the USAF, part of the "triad" - three independent ways the United States developed to annihilate the Soviet Union, a union that now does not exist.
Boom - there's money to pay for health care reform.

I can not wait for the new healthcare reform that promises "Insurance companies can not deny you coverage due to pre-existing conditions". Why can't the US be like Japan and have universal healthcare. If Canda and Japan can do it why not the US?? The USA is the only country in this world that has a health care system for "PROFIT".

Sushi, your eliminating or significantly shrinking the nuclear bomber arm of the USAF to pay for health care reform is a great idea! Could you please tell the Obama administration about it? Thanks!

Even with the doors closed to republicans and secret meetings with bribes were going on, the democrats with a supermajority still couldn't get ObamaCare passed.
The democrats is the party of "D'oh!!".

Obama is putting off the inevitable and that is the dissolution of a bad bill he and Pelosi/Reid have put together. The American people have been telling them they do not want the current bill passed in the senate.
If he continues to push for the Barack Hussein Obama Memorial Health Care Scan, his current 43% approval rating will look great in comparison with a few more months down the road.

Trouble is, although the Soviet Union no longer exists their atomic weapons do.
