Funny how Obama is frustrated about this process. I mean he was a senator before becoming president. He knows what's going on. < :-)

I like how brave, brave Senator Reid and the president completely bucked the US Constitution, (which Barack has described as "a charter of negative liberties") and Senate laws, and made parts of legislation in their their health care bill unrepealable.

When questioned about it by arch-winger Demint , the Senate adjourned! Haha hahaha , stupid wingers. I almost feel sorry for them.

Bush has nothing to do with this and I really don't know how long your going to carry that card and beat that tired drum to excuse this Administration for the way it is governing the country which is in my opinion atrociously and getting worse by the day.It is your party and politics and your philosphy in charge now. There is no old me but the same me who has always fundamentally disagreed with your political beliefs and outlook. It is baffling that you consider I should have changed my political views with the election of Obama or that I have turned radical all of the sudden. I have had my worst fears realized that Obama would turn out divisive partisan left wing President, instead of Governing from the sensible center and the direction he and your Democrats are taking our country.

Obama should count his blessings and be lucky the Senate dosen't vote "present" like he did 137 times in the 143 days he was a senator before he began running for p-resident.

I thought the polarization would ease somewhat when Obama got elected, but it looks like I was wrong. Right now it's probably safe to say that the Senate is putting their party before anything else. At some point both sides are going to have to ease up. It's not about being a Democrat or a Republican, it's about the issue at hand. These votes that keep falling entirely along party lines from both sides is starting to creep me out.

I'm surprised you could even consider it for a moment. Its not about parties, but philosophy. When you elect a man, who does everything he can to hide his political philosophy, and who had the medias help in doing so, when it turns out he is a socialist, you can't expect people to just go along with him. Most Americans aren't socialist, most Americans look down on socialism, viewing it as heading into the dark ages, and here is Obama leading the way.

On most issues, Dems and Republicans agree. Or their disagreements are minor. Most votes held by the Senate you never hear about, but the big ones, the ones that will change policy, or affect all their constituents as these will, those you hear about.

Getting back to this topic. I find it amusing that Obama is upset at the pace of the Senate, his former home.

Hey, you should be glad that no Republicans are dumb enough to vote for this monstrosity.

Obama should just bring his guns to work like everyone else in America. Maybe that will move things along with the healthcare problems?!

If Obama was showing any semblance of leadership then he could have rallied support in congress months ago and possibly even convinced some Republicans to support the bill. Instead he's allowed the process to drag out to the point where they have to buy votes with sweeteners for individual states. Like freebies for Nebraska that will cost everybody else, restrictions that parts of the democratic party don't like, etc.

That's going to become a problem when the Senate and House versions of the bill are brought together. The "negotiations" will start all over again. Then you'll get the amendments that pay off other holdouts.

This bill is a long way from becoming law. I'm amused that anybody is claiming success. The whole thing is a sham.

He has been shoving Leftist legislation through the Congress on party line votes from the day he entered the White House. He is the first President to push any major social policy without any bipartisan support at all. He involved himself in secretive deals with pharmasutical and insurance companies and has allowed his proxies in the Senate and House to use pay for play tactics pitting state against state in order to get his unpopular health care policy passed. A majority of Americans are against ObamaCare and believe that it will not reduce costs much less bend the cost curve or reduce the deficit. In fact, all of the short-comings of the current health care system will be magnified all in the name of Obama's ego. What good will all of this guaranteed government health care be when the government has no money to provide it? Is it humane or moral to promise health care as a right to everyone and then bankrupt your nation trying to do so? This entire health care effort serves only the interests of those in power now and leaves the consequences of such irresponsibility to be sorted out at some point in the future - just as does Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Increasing the burden on a government that is already under historic levels of financial strain is not only irresponsible, it is criminal. America is becoming a banana republic before our very eyes and Obama is our own Hugo Chavez.

Oddly, this bill contains things (such as abortion funding) that Obama said that he would oppose. It also lacks language on loopholes for illegal aliens, also something Obama said that he opposed. This bill is a socialist's dream. But it comes at a cost that all American's will have to pay. Thankfully, it will cost the Dems in 2010 and Obama in 2012. Toss the bums out!

You can be a 'Denier' but that won't change the facts. All of the votes on Bush's most important issues in Congress were at least somewhat bi-partisan; education, tax cuts, Iraq, prescription drugs, etc. Look up the vote counts and see for yourself. The truth is that President Obama has not tried at all to be bi-partisan with Republicans in his two major initiatives in Congress so far; the "porkulous" package in the Spring and health care now. Obama has calculated that he has the numbers in the Senate and House and that he doesn't need any Republicans at all. Therefore, he has gone back on his campaign promises to be bi-partisan and negotiate in public and in good faith. He has chosen to make back room deals with his fellow Democrats and with pharmaseutical and insurance lobbyists. Where is the bipartisanship and the C-SPAN cameras?

Obama has the political power and it is therefore up to him to reach out to the opposition. Instead, he has only extended a clenched fist to Republicans. He isn't much of a leader - just a partisan hack who conducts business by 'keeping score' with wayward Democrats to the point of forcing them out of the party if they don't do as they are told. It wouldn't surprise me if more Democrats switch or become independent because of Obama's partisan and ideological leadership style.

Considering the vast majority of the country opposes this, it is for much of America, like waking up Christmas morning, and getting a lump of coal in your stocking. Not exactly a merry christmas. Now if they had failed, that would have been worth a cup of eggnog! But no, no celebrating in America over this, at least not for most Americans. Only the die hard partisans like yourself will celebrate this boondoggle.

Wow! In other words, we know what is best for you so take these benefits that we have determined that you need and shut up. It has been determined that the people of America can no longer think or decide for themselves. The people will gratefully accept the "progress" that the State provides and you will be happy; or else we will fine you or put you in jail (oh, and Merry Christmas).

Yes, many American's are 'infuriated' that they cannot make their own choices, that the government must decide what is best for them. If you want to help the poor then fine, help the poor get health insurance. Instead, all Americans are being forced into a government health system that is doomed to fail and is fiscally unsustainable (see Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid). I guess the Leftists figure that since the government is already bankrupt, they might as well add another huge social-welfare program just to make sure we become the next Venezuala. Pure stupidity. There could have been bi-partisanship except that the republicans fought tooth and nail against Obama's campaign pledges. Barack Obama was elected by Americans. And they voted for him because what he said he'd do. The republicans said, we don't care what America wanted, we want what we want, period screw Obama.

When george bush was elected (I never voted for the liar) he ran on certain promises. The congress tried to support some of his campaign pledges, even though they hurt America while stuffing the pockets of the ultra rich.

So the democrats worked with bush. The republicans said, screw the country and what they voted for, we're bad losers and we're going to go against Obama at every corner. < :-)
