There is a long way to go but I put the current score at:

    Karl Marx/President Obama: 1 Founding Fathers: 0

wolfpack: Nothing can stand in the way of progress -- the elections in November of last year made clear that the age-old Republican practice of irrational fear mongering doesn't work. This isn't the McCarthy era and your extreme fear of the Red Menace isn't going to stop anything from moving forward. It's still bizarre to most of the world how you're scared of being covered by a universal health plan, but on a positive note when if you're institutionalized for paranoia you'll be covered :)

Good job on clearing the first hurdles.

With her decision, the 62-year-old lawmaker bucked her own leadership...

Yes, bucking Republican Party "leadership," who are on the take to insurance companies, to stand squarely with the American people.

    Sweet.

    Yes. < :-)

Another Republican senator, Susan Collins of Maine, has signaled her willingness to join Senator Snowe in the support of the health care reform bill.

This is the kind of bipartisan change that I can believe in!

Nothing can stand in the way of this debacle. And the Democrats will own it.

Yes, the American people achieving better access to health care without running the risk of personal bankruptcy is a "debacle" to the enemies of the average American.

"Yes, the American people achieving better access to health care without running the risk of personal bankrupcy is a "debacle" to the enemies of the average American.

So now I'm being called an enemy of the average American.

Yes, the American people having their present health care coverage disappear and being forced into government-controlled health care while seeing their national debt being ballooned is a debacle.

Yes, the American people having their present health care coverage disappear...

Note the wording. Health care will not disappear, since doctors, nurses and other direct providers of health care will not disappear. What will disappear, thank goodness, are the hundreds of middlemen who add substantially to the cost of health care without contributing anything of value. LOL! If I decide to change health care providers, or if my insurance company gets swallowed by another one, does that mean my "current coverage disappears?"

By cutting out these middlemen, who pay themselves salaries and bonuses far beyond anything seen in government service, the total cost paid by Americans for health care will decrease.

Since the American government is, as Lincoln said it was, "of the people, by the people, and for the people," anyone who disparages it is the enemy of the average American.

from yabits: "Note the wording. Health care will not disappear, since doctors, nurses and other direct providers of health care will not disappear. "

Actually, a lot of doctors are wingers, and they make a lot of money.I hear some say they will just retire early or scale back their practices. But it doesnt matter.Agressive affirmative action policies mean more minorities who had been kept out of the health professions will get to enter and take their places.Who cares if the actual quality of care declines a little.

"Who cares if the actual quality of care declines a little"

It'll probably decline a lot, and Obama doesn't care as long as the government gets to control it all, lol.
