Obama may be in Asia somewhere right now but his heart is with the occupiers.

Go to democracynow.org or alternet.org to see the real news. Obama is of the 1 percent. Yet increasing support from unexpected quarters. Seattle former police chief, former Philadelphia police captain (arrested) National Lawyers Guild, and others decry increasing police state. Reporters from the main stream press arrested. 84 year old woman, pregnant woman, priest arrested. A veteran left with brain damage from Oakland storm troopers.
Not a rebublican vs Dem thing. Oakland mayor a democrat but defending criminal police conduct.
Reports of damage inflicted by protesters highly exaggerated and fabricated. Demonstrators represent a cross section of working class people of all ages. If this were Egypt or Tunisia, whose participants stand in solidarity, western news media would be talking about pro democracy movements...but because it is in the us, the strategy is to denounce them as crime bent, drug users, violent thugs. Reality is that the thuggery is by law enforcement on behalf of the bankers. And the mainstream news media defend the 1 percent. NY Times among the worst offenders.

Rent the movie "Dr. Zhivago" and see what happens when people take over private or public property. Protest and freedom of speech are protected by the US Constitution. Urinating, etc. and camping are not permissible. There is no sympathy for people who destroy OUR COLLECTIVE property. This park is my park, this park is your park.... Occupiers don't understand that concept.

The hate-filled 'progressive' left, self-appointed vanguard of 'the 99 percent' (translation:we are totalitarians) , now going after your children. Classy, real effin classy.

In fact, there own parents took them, because I guess the long way around was just too long. Its a protest. Emotions are high. Its been going on for about a month.
Call us when some kid actually gets hurt. Then make sure it was actually a protester, and not some clown in a Guy Fawkes mask who does not even know what the protest is about.

There they go again! I guess AFP thinks that only 1 percent of the U.S. population are involved in capitalism, as if the protesters are screaming about mom and pop shops, sole proprietership factories, local pizza chains and lemonade stands. Even calling them anti-corporation would be a stretch. Sadly some people lap this barf up.

I am glad all of these protesters are out there demonstrating their indignity towards a corrupted system. I hope the federal system comes to an end, the future of America depends on it. America has become as free as a caged monkey, all of these protesters know it and won't tolerated anymore!

Waht happened to Juans pic? Looking at it helps my sympathize with their "plight".

Nice pictures of grandma there. I suspect what some people think is missing from the pic is a police baton blurred by its own sharp downward motion. Greed is certainly not the only sickness in America today.

If the lady was walking down the street minding her own business and the police beat her with a baton, I would be outraged.
But she made the decision to go to the protest. Mind you she has every right to do so, but in doing so she is also taking the chance that if things go sour at the protest, she could wind up getting caught up in the mix and getting hit. It's all about personal responsiblity.

So if I'm just joe average trying to pick up my kids from daycare, or get home after a long day of work (yes, some people actually have to work for a living) then these a-holes are going to make me sit in traffic for hours or drive miles and hours out of my way just so they can have a say? How is making a woman who works cleaning hotel rooms, or a courier, or retail but now can't get to pick up her kid in time, and likely has to pay extra for someone to get and watch them proving anything but stupidity and selfishness?
These jackasses need to think about what they're doing and realize that capitalism is heads above the rest in preventing the kind of poverty they seem to be so against. They like to say that they are not 'anti-capitalism' - but aren't they? How many signs have I seen in the news media being held by OWS camps stating 'tax the rich'. The vilification of personal wealth due to industry and commerce is anti-capitalist, sorry. Capitalism promotes incentive and growth, for profit yes, but also to the benefit of all. Look at socialist examples and you'll see worse poverty and despair, and likely you will see these economies moving towards capitalism (Mumbai is a great example).
Get a grip, get a job and get out of the bloody road!

Oh and then we'll see the photos like I saw yesterday (was it CNN?) about the 80-something year old woman and the pregnant girl getting pepper sprayed because they would not stop blocking traffic when ordered by police. We're supposed to find horror in that? You get what you ask for sometimes. Blocking traffic is a rather serious offense. If your house caught on fire or one of your parents had a heart attack - or your child needed emergency care - and help couldn't arrive because these idiots were blocking traffic and causing gridlock, would you think them such great freedom fighters then?

This attempt to snarl traffic and clog the subway give a good indication of how little the OWS people understand. The "1%" do not use the subway nor are they stuck in traffic. The people who are being disrupted are the workers, members of the "99%" that the OWS claim to represent. This is why OWS is losing support and is being seen as a bunch of freeloaders.
Now, if they were proposing legislation that penalized the mortagage bankers by firing the execs and the board of directors of any company that had to be bailed out, or maybe a puntative tax on the incomes of the execs of Fannie and Freddie Mac - that I think Joe Public would get behind. Maybe a constitutional amandment that congress can't vote themselves perks or exceptions to any law of the land. That would be good. But camping in a park and then snarling traffic? That's just going to annoy people - and the wrong people. The executives are laughing at the OWS people as ineffectual. It really has become a sad joke.

And who do they work for? Just like any strike, as far as OWS is concerned, those breaking the strike are scabs.
So I guess you think limos fly?

These protests should be in Washington, no? That's the source of all the corruption. An old lady gets hit? Umm... look at Syria. People are dying for their cause. Stop crying foul and get in the game.

The 'protesters' in NY were going after local shop owners. That's why the cops showed up. Buy yourself a clue.

Oh, so one has to be unemployed and not out seeking a job to be 'one of them'. That explains much.
