Official: UK police need more stun guns due to terror threat

They'll need some really nice heavy duty stun guns. But those only work at a certain distance. Bullets travel much further.

UK-based journalists can't be blamed for failing to distinguish between close contact, pain-inducing stun guns and the incapacitating, supposedly non-lethal Tasers that the Police Federation are calling for all officers to be issued with.

Perhaps the loved ones of 500 dead Americans (and seven British Taser fatalities so far) could enlighten them.

Thankfully, the perverted idea of a society armed to the teeth hasn't travelled across the Atlantic yet.

You do know that there is such a thing as rubber bullets too right? If you have to go the non-lethal route, make sure you can pin down any threat at least. Otherwise all it takes is just one of the wrong people with the best weapons. Its not about arming them to the teeth, its about giving law enforcement tools to do their job and protect the people from criminally minded idiots and even worse, extremists.
