Damn fine actor.Until now I didn't know that his performance as the dying father in Inception wasn't "acting" he really was dying when they filmed that - now that is true performance from a superb actor. His character in JP - Roland, the 'great white hunter' is iconic.

Was quite impressive as the apothecary in the 90s Hollywood version of Romeo and Juliet. And his character in Usual Suspects won't soon be forgotten.

I liked him in all of his many roles... But I especially liked his performance in "James and the Giant Peach"...

Although I don't ever recall seeing him as a leading actor in anything, he was truly an excellent actor, and will be missed. I would have loved to see him doing Shakespeare on the stage... my guess is that's where he truly shined.
