Good. Hopefully they work faithfully and honestly with India and they can find the perpetrators and punish them. This could work as a good means of binding them slightly together... or at least undoing any immediate backlash against Pakistan that came with the attacks.

Shmith!! You shock me! I actually fully understand your feelings and totally agree with them. I guess not toking up first thing in the morning does give you a clear head.

Few airstrikes on selected terror cells in PoK may not be avoidable. if not now, may be in near future.

bushlover: "I guess not toking up first thing in the morning does give you a clear head."

Sorry, amigo, but unlike many a person on here, it seems, I don't use drugs. Perhaps if I started toking up for a change you might understand me better more often (or, of course, if the 'you' means the general 'you', or in this case bushlover).

Anyway, Pakistan's going to be under a LOT of pressure to be actively invovled in rooting out terrorism in its state, instead of just saying they're illegal and implementing lax security at best. So long as there are no premature attacks on Pakistani soil, this could be a good thing for all parties.

I toke first thing each morning.

I would hope that both Pakistan and India could work together to solve this terrorist attack. We need to see something peaceful between these two nuclear powers.

    I agree with smithinjapan. < :-)

Hope these 2 nations can put woes behind and work together on insurgency woes in both nations.

There is a lot of work that needs to done by both sides to make it big in trade.

Pakistan and India have much potential just like Russia,China and USA,if they make the wise decisions that take them to that potential.

China is really making its potential with a 7 trillion USD annual economy, hope India and Pakistan will follow China's economic role model in improving its quality of life.

what really can Pakistan do, even if their intentions are good?

skipthesong: "what really can Pakistan do, even if their intentions are good?"

Are you kidding? If the terrorists really are working from their soil, they can put serious effort into catching them instead of simply declaring them illegal. They can provide India with intelligence on the groups and possibly work together to catch them. While they're on patrol, they can also look for other terrorists and in general beef up security in the regions. It's not that I don't think their intentions aren't sincere, it's that I don't think their efforts have been all that sincere up till now. That will change with all the pressure. If it doesn't and it's proven that the Pakistani government played an open role in the attacks? Well... there should be some tough sanctions against Pakistan. But that's talk for a later thread, if and when it comes... which I hope it doesn't.

smitty, basically, India and Pakistan are at some sort of a state of war. Why should or would Pakistan help in this? Additionally, I don't think they have the resources to do anything significant considering the populace there.

skip: "smitty, basically, India and Pakistan are at some sort of a state of war. Why should or would Pakistan help in this?"

Ummm... maybe because they are being blamed for a lot of this, by a lot of people on this board who lack any kind of know-how to boot? That because of said blame, doing something to help clear their name can improve their reputation? That not only India but other countries like the US and some in the UN are worried about Pakistani connections (particularly since the former has declared Pakistan on a number of occasions an 'ally in the war on terror') and are applying pressure? Because despite you saying that the two countries are already 'at some sort of state of war', they might not want it to get worse?

"Additionally, I don't think they have the resources to do anything significant considering the populace there."

They have the resources to do SOMETHING if they had them to fight the war on terror. Why are you so against Pakistan actually trying to help India, anyway? I can understand anyone being skeptical of whether they actually can or will, but someone who doesn't want them too? Do you want them to be attacked?

smithin japan, a little too long:

"Ummm... maybe because they [Pakistan] are being blamed for a lot of this, by a lot of people on this board who lack any kind of know-how to boot? "

You think Urdu-speaking Pakistan comes here for its news and to decide how to respond to international criticism of its rogue ISI?

    You have lost all perspective.

Both Pakistan and India are to blame for this mess. Pakistan is infested with talibani terrorists in training in many of the major madrasas and the Pakistani government should execute the leaders of these schools for teaching hate and violence while India has been to busy trying to play economic "catch-up" with China, Japan, the West etc..and forgetting to put more money into it's police force (1 crappy rifle with 2 crappy bullets) to face these young talibani lads ready to use AK-47s and many hand grenades. Let's give peace a chance but first hunt down and kill off the scum terrorists where ever they maybe.

TooFarGone: You'll notice, if you look even at the part you cut and pasted, that after the comma (which indicates either an appositive statement to add more information or is to link for separate sentence clauses), that I said 'on this board to boot'. Now, I'm not sure if you know what 'to boot' means, but it means something like 'as well' with a bit of emphatic stress added in. So you see, it's like saying 'even on this board they are receiving a lot of flak'.

But hey, you guys have only ever been good at seeing what you want to see, and running away when you get proof against what you proclaim.

The mods will be flattered you think this board is so world-widely read, but if you can't find any instances of international pressure on Pakistan (ie., Pakistan taking some of the blame from other countries, at least in part) then clearly you need to read a little more.
