The political conditions and social conditions are not good in Pakistan with low quality of governance, police, army, judiciary and civil service. There is a lot of ethnic cronism.

Economic job creation by private businesses also is low. Conditions like these make rebels in poverty, go against governance and corruptions in governance.

Real progress in a more united pakistan will only come via quality governance delivered to NWFP/FATA.

There should be better distribution of wealth fairness to NWFP/FATA.

The NWFP/FATA region can only be worn via hearts of people in NWFP/FATA.

This will takes years of hard work in making more jobs for NWFP/FATA and in economic improvements deeds to solve the real woes.

Military solutions to regional woes in NWFP/FATA is not a high quality approach to woes . Woes are tied to poverty and lack of fair wealth distributions to tribal areas/tribal frustration.

This fight to eliminate militants from tribal areas has been going for decades,it is not a recent problem.

The rich are getting richer in pakistan . The poor is increasing because of low quality governance systems, which is not fulfilling fair distribution of wealth to citizens in NWFP/FATA tribal zones.

Many reasons exist, for reasons to be insurgents in NWFP/FATA.

Reducing the reasons for militancy is the way to solve woes, not more revenge via bullets/bombs/body counts approach only.

I agree. After the military campaign the government needs to remove some of the factors that help the Taliban recruit in the area.

I don't hold out much hope for Pakistan. It was established with the aim of becoming the purest expression of Islamic government.

The Taliban and other "violent misunderstanders of Islam" are very eager to take them up on the offer.

eliminating them from Swat isn't gonna do a thing. They need to be wiped out.

They need to be wiped out

A very accurate assessment, but the Pak govt lacks the resolve.

Exactly what did the Pakistani government think they could possibly achieve by making deals with the devil in the first place? The taliban have no sense of honor.

"Sense of honor" ??? They have no sense for common sense, nor logical thinking for that matter. 2 things Pak gov needs to do is beat the stank out of them militarily, and then open the schools again to keep these children from being brainwashed in the religious alternative schools the taliban run. Unfortunately they have neither the monetary funds or support for either.
