Pakistan said they would take actions against us if we entered in Pakistani soverenty.
If they had knocked the helicopter out of the air, then we'd be really be answering questions.
As it is, U. S. commanders aren't saying anything. < :-)

Whoops.
No end in sight on the "war on terror," even can't get the program straight in Pakistan.

lets see, the last week bush has derailed the economy of the US and the world and then proposed, as if he were a communist, a trillion dollar bailout of greedy immoral companies that preyed on the weak and corrupted the government. Then bush attacks an ally, a nuclear ally, who has been given billions by the US in the last few years. In essence bush is starting war number three in the middle east. Now they are firing back. OBL must be rolling on his prayer rug now in glee. For the wingers out there, OBL is the one who attacked the US and is still alive, not Saddam Hussein who is now dead.
Can reality under bush be any stranger, and more dangerous. Well, mccain would be worse since he is both senile and crazy. At least bush is only one of those two.

An interesting preview of President Obamas promise to bomb Pakistan.

you are getting mccain who promised to bomb iran with obama who prefers diplomacy over invasions (like bush invading iraq based on lies).

US should supply few more F-16 to Pakistan

Why supply them with F-16s? We just gave them $5,000,000,000.00. They can use their own money (ours) and buy their own. < :-)

yep, Obama wants to bomb Pakistan and McCain wants to bomb Iran. Now there's change we can believe in.
It's no surprise the Pakistanis are shooting at aircraft that violate their airspace. Guess they'll switch to cruise missiles now...

Zurcronium, look - Barack visited Pakistan in 1981. This is well-documented.
The country was in great turmoil then. In fact, it was under martial law. But he got in. And this was when it was off limits to americans. It is clear that if Barack went there back then (when by law only Muslims could enter ) so great was his foresight that He knew Pakistan would one day be a flashpoint.
Barack, you could say, is above diplomacy.
He will charm the Pakistani leadership - even through his interpreters - into doing what his administration knows is best.

Why don't they fire on the Taliban instead?

Obama makes clear what he would do. He'd put Pakistan in its place:
“There are terrorists holed up in those mountains who murdered 3,000 Americans. They are plotting to strike again....If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won’t act, we will.”

Why would Obama have had anything to worry about, Alin. Everyone knows Obama's a crypto-Muslim, right? ;)

Why don't they fire on the Taliban instead?" Why aren't people asking that question?

skipthesong and the rest of the rightwinger crowd, please try to answer you own question. And ask yourself again why bush has let OBL stay alive since 9-11.
You guys can figure this out, I believe in you just like you believed in WMD in Iraq.

i like to say one thing as Blair claimed and US claimed about WMD in Iraq but due to poor intelligence they invaded one more country but i think it was intentional to occupy one more oil hub.now they want to invade one more country?front line ally! Its strange to think what they are thinking?i remember few months back US forces in Afghanistan said it was MISTAKE and they killed innocent people.what if Pakistan fired couple of cruise missile to Afghan base BY MISTAKE off course what will be result? i think US forces are playing with fire.i remember interview of on rtd. general of Pakistan named Hamid gul "If Pakistan went for war with US it will not win but it will be neither on losing side too." ISI fought war against Russia in Afghanistan and now US want to destabilize same country.i am seeing more strict actions in place to take down intruders. To those who are talking about not to give F-16 to them.watch out for other options....Rafale,J-10,gripen....list goes on....and russian planes can also be buy from third party as they bought oil tankers/tanks/choppers from ukraine using as third person.
