What would happen to four Palestinians driving through the Israelis "territory" illegally?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Palestinian gunmen opened fire Tuesday on an Israeli car in the West Bank and killed four passengers on the eve of a new round of Mideast peace talks in Washington. The Islamic militant group Hamas claimed responsibility. “The Qassam Brigades announces its full responsibility for the heroic operation in Hebron.”

Every now and then we need to be reminded of what Hamas really is.

Hammas needs to go.

It's "heroic" acts like these that have created such a bad situation for the Palestinians. My heart really goes out to the people of Palestine who are caught between a vengengeful Israel and prisoners of Hammas who just make life hell for these people.

And it's because of these "heroic" acts that Israel must defend itself.

People here have a short memory. Read the true history (not the zionist propaganda version). Remind yourselves - who are the invaders and occupiers? What would you do if these zionists stole your house and land, then occupied your motherland?? All of those illegal settlers must leave or face everlasting resistance from ordinary citizens and groups like Hamas.

There are so many people, on both sides, who want peace talks to fail they will do anything to sabotage the efforts. If it's not Palestinians shooting Israelis or lobbing rockets into Israel, it's Israelis building new settlements in Palestinian territory. It will never end.

Contrary to Zionist propaganda, Arabs and Jews DO NOT have a history of violence.

Hamas and other groups are a self defensive reaction to Zionist occupation and genocide.

The peace talks must continue.

I just get a strange feeling from this article, by the way it was written. Hamas killing four innocent Israelis, including a pregnant woman, and thousands of Gazans celebrating. And they mention previous attacks by Palestinians. There is no mention of the illegal occupation, the many attacks by Israeli militants (IDF), the thousands of Palestinian prisoners, the blockade, ..... In other words, its a typical AP story. I wonder what really happened here.

Media is biased, there is no question. One who has lived in USA all his life and been watching American corporate news will have a complete different opinion on this than most other people on this planet.

Americans are spoon-fed Zionist propaganda from early childhood. This creates a virtual reality in America's collective mind about Israel.

Most Muslims hate the US government for embracing tyrannical Arab and Muslim regimes that torment their own people by denying them natural freedoms and civil liberties as well as the right to freely elect their own governments. This is in addition, of course, to backing and supporting Israel's Nazi-like policies, including ethnic cleansing and settlement expansion at the expense of the native Palestinians.

Yeah, this ethnic cleansing is always presented to the American public as the poor Israelis simply defending themselves against terrorists, this article being a typical example. That is why, as bad as the above story seems, I suspect there is more to it.

I don't like Hamas, but your comment is one-sided and simple. Blockntackle said it most poignantly in his original post: "What would happen to four Palestinians driving through the Israelis "territory" illegally?" Violence begets violence, and this is by FAR not one-sided. It's a shame that it occurred during peace talks, and is a terrible thing on the whole, of course, but to pretend that Israel doesn't commit the same sort of acts is simply denial.

Killing a pregnant woman is a self defensive reaction?

Hammas began as a terrorist group. And they still are.

Moonbeams...

and how many pregnant women and children did the zionists murder in their viscous attacks on the Palestinians over the years, not to mention the especially brutal savagery witnessed in Gaza and Lebanon recently. Can you even begin to count??

The zionists need to end their illegal occupation or the violence is sure to continue for another hundred years.

No, you tell us. How many terrorist acts by indivual Jews can you name? ..... big silence. Of course, there is none.

And no, don´t cop out by bringing the IDF. When an organized armee, acting on orders, responds to attacks then yes of course, people get killed.

The problem with your question is that there are 100 different definitions of what terrorism is. Your definition is one of 100. To say that your definition is the only right is rather an overly simplified opinion.

If I was to agree to your definition of what terrorism is. Go to this page.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Palestinian_civilian_casualties_in_the_Second_Intifada

A list over Palestinian casualties in the Intifada. You can see that many Palestinian settlers are responsible for killing Palestinians.

It's more a people who have been ethnic cleansed from their home country and currently under the longest military occupation in the world which results in violence. Either way, I am against violence from both ends and the peace talks must continue and Palestinians must get their freedom.

So because the Jews have a seriuosly well -eqipped military that exonerates them from their own attrocities? The Jews want their own way and the Palestinians want theirs. Neither want peace because no agreements can ever be reached with this kind of behaviour.

It's time to better arm the Palestinians to an Israeli standard and let them get on with killing each other in the time-honoured tradition on a more level playingfield, with a view, obviously, to Winner takes All.

I really think that both sides are stuck in their little world and as long as they both claim "divine right" absolutely nothing will ever be settled, now that said I would like to play the devils advocate here just for a second and say this.

I have always found it interesting that Israel calls just about any attack or crime that could even remotely viewed as possibly an attack that is perpetrated by an Arab a "Terrorist attack" but the same such attacks committed by Israelis against Arabs are called domestic disturbances, civil riots, and in the worst cases criminal acts and not to mention as in the case of The Cave of the Patriarchs massacre just a disturbed individual.

Now I am in no way saying that any of these acts are acceptable or that this particular attack was anything but an act of terrorism, but I would like to see the same definitions used no mater which side is committing these acts, so if things were done that way the next time Israeli settlers attack Arabs, then Israel could call that terrorism and demolish the home of the perpetrator in the same manor as they do to the Arabs of the West bank.

SmithinJapan: I don't like Hamas, but your comment is one-sided and simple.

So was the incident. Four people were murdered then Hamas claimed responsibility and called it a "success." You'll have to excuse me if I focus my comments on the issue at hand.

Blockntackle said it most poignantly in his original post: "What would happen to four Palestinians driving through the Israelis "territory" illegally?"

Poignant? More like a distraction, and one you successfully fell for hook, link, and sinker from the get-go, amigo. If you want "poignant" well then I'll have to say that Hamas murdered 4 innocent people yesterday and called it a success. How about that.

Violence begets violence, and this is by FAR not one-sided. It's a shame that it occurred during peace talks, and is a terrible thing on the whole, of course, but to pretend that Israel doesn't commit the same sort of acts is simply denial.

To read a story about premeditated murder by Hamas and to talk about Israeli crimes would be a better definition of denial. Stop giving them free passes. If Hamas does something wrong, then criticize them. If Israel does something wrong, then criticize them. But don't try to cover for Hamas' murders because you hate Israel.

Some 500 ultranationalist Jewish settlers live in heavily fortified enclaves in the city amid more than 100,000 Palestinians. I dont know about you all, but 500 vs. 100,000 does not sound very smart. Time for these Jews to get the hint and pull out of this part of the world. I am sure the Arabs must see the the Israelis as invaders in their part of the world. Time to stop waiting for miracles and time to see reality as it really is, 100,000 angry, hungry, dirty Palestinians ready to eat you up alive.

Even if the Israelis ceased to exist, the Palestinians would continue the violence, fighting each other.

STOP THE FIGHTING PALESTINE.

I've been hoping on these peace talks ever since they were announced. Yes I know there are radicals out there, but they have allow the peace talks to happen.

This is frustrating to all parties. < :-)

Hammas began as a terrorist group. And they still are.

Actually, although the gatekeeper does not like me writing this, the same can be said of Israel. The word terrorist was first used in referring to the zionist terrorists in the creation of Israel.

Anyway, peace will never be achieved, the fighting is way too profitable for the MIC.

Before the zionists started killing and stealing land, Muslims, Christians and Jews live in relative peace in that region. The only reason there is infighting is that Israel and the US is supporting one group to take over the democratically elected leaders.

Typical Pal propaganda. What you are claiming, is that an army shooting back at individuals who hide behind the skirts of their women are just as bad as those who attack and murder unarmed pregnant women. Thanks Sabi, proving once again your support for the terrorist cause. Tell me, have you ever met a good Jew? I mean apart from at a funeral.

Well thats one way to rewrite history. A very simplified version of history that puts the blame only on Israel. Since that is your perspective, that Arabs are completely and totally blameless, it makes a lot of sense why you wrote this.
