Palestinian kills three in Jerusalem bulldozer rampage
JERUSALEM —
A Palestinian killed three Israelis and wounded 45 others as he rammed a bulldozer into buses and cars in Jerusalem on Wednesday before being shot dead by Israeli police who branded it a terror attack.
National police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld described the rampage in the heart of the Holy City as a “terrorist” act by a 30-year-old man from occupied east Jerusalem who worked for an Israeli company at a nearby construction site.
Chaos erupted as the heavy vehicle barreled along the busy Jaffa Road, smashing into two crowded buses, using its shovel to overturn one of them and ramming other vehicles, reducing one car to a mangled wreck.
Police officers clambered onto the bulldozer and shot the man dead.
The attack was the first in Jerusalem since a Palestinian gunman killed eight Jewish students at a seminary in March.
Four people were killed, including the driver of the earthmover, and 45 others wounded, three of them seriously, said Yeroham Mendola, a spokesman for the Magen David Adom emergency services.
He said two women were among the dead, Bat-Sheva Unterman, 33, and Elisabeth Goren Friedman, 55, while the third Israeli killed was a man, whose name was not given.
On Wednesday night, 23 people were still being treated in hospital.
Police Commissioner Dudi Cohen told reporters the attack appeared to be a “spontaneous incident” carried out by a father of two with a criminal past but no known links to armed groups.
He said police were examining whether the man had “received instructions” from others.
Police identified the attacker as Hussam Tarysir Dwayat, and questioned family and neighbors in the Arab community of Sur Baher where he lived.
A little-known group calling itself the Imad Mughnieh unit of the Brigades of the Liberators of the Galilee claimed responsibility.
The Palestinian movement Hamas which rules the besieged Gaza Strip called the attack “the natural result of continuing Israeli aggression and crimes against our people in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.”

This does nothing to help the peace process. Hopefully it's an isolated incident that does beg for a bunch of revenge killing. < :-)

I saw this on another site and it seems almost all news organizations have this wron (thanks to AP), it was a "Front end loader" not a "bulldozer" - they are very different machines. I have licences to operate both back home so can assure you they are quite different. A front end loader has wheels and can move a lot faster than a bulldozer and is quite a lot more manoeuvrable, hence this Palestinian chap caused the amount of carnage that he did. Had he been in a bulldozer more people would have time to get out of his way.

Bulldozers are what the Israelis use on a regular basis to destroy Palestinian homes.

...Palestinian homes of suicide bombers, after they destroy Israelis. Muslims like sabiwabi are upset about the former, not the latter.

I heard it was a terrorist acting on his own. < :-)

I'm surprised anyone still believes that. Like when they destroyed this guy's home? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWuRQJeIRyQ
Sorry, but I am not Muslim. I just happen to be aware of the decades-long terrible suffering the Palestinians (Muslims, Christians, and others) have had to endure.

Bulldozers are what the Israelis use to destroy tunnels built under homes for smuggling weapons and drugs from Egypt into Gaza. They are also used to destroy homes that are used by terrorists as hideouts, bomb factories, and sniper and ambush sites. They were used to destroy the homes of suicide bombers in hopes that making their family homeless would deter such actions. It apparently made no difference to the terrorists so it's not done anymore.
Yet another Palestinian terrorist group to be added to the list.

Now why would I waste my time listening to the anecdotal stories of a Palestinian journalist who writes for pro-terrorist and socialist media outlets like Electric Intifada and Pacifica Radio?
Israeli bulldozers are used to destroy Palestinian weapons and drug smuggling tunnels in Gaza, although it's now the Egyptians who are threatening to bulldoze the homes as described in the following article:

For you, anyone with views different from yours regarding Palestinian issues is pro-terrorist. So , basically, you're stuck with the views that you have.

You have again and again been called on by JT posters about the radical sources you use. So use different sources or accept the criticism. Either way, it has nothing to do with me.

Helter, For you, anyone with views different from yours regarding Palestinian issues is pro-terrorist and/or radical.
I use many different sources, and they are infinitely more credible than those spouting your views.

Well, a lot of people disagree with me on a variety of issues. I don't think they're pro-terrorist or radical. But I think you are. I'd even bet that those who disagree with me would agree that you're a radical as well. You're pretty much on your own.

Sabiwabi:
By "others" I suppose you mean Jews. That is correct: Both Christians and Jews (as well as muslims) have been suffering from Muslim violence in the region. Without an exception, all the terrorist groups and terrorist indivuals (may they carry bombs or drive bulldozers) are muslim.

The fact is that Muslims have suffered tremendously from zionist terror for over six decades. The Palestinian Christians have also been terrorized by the zionists, to this day. Also victims of the zionists are the Palestinian Jews, those who were there all along and their descendants, most of them opposed the creation of the state of Israel and many continue to do so today. Most of those you call Palestinian terrorists just want their freedom.
