These ethics probes are flying Palin's way at a rate of knots.

She complained and complained that they are distracting her and that she can't handle them.

    And then she quit.

But she is still being spoken about as a GOP contender in 2012. :-)

"may have violated" --->sadly this article doesn't even support that.

    -everything seems legal to me.

The woman has no ethics. Period.

  • 0

    JoeBigs

Hey, if she is not with any guilt then they will not find anything.

But as the old saying goes, "Where there's smoke, there's fire" could apply in her case. But we will see.......

she is the same messed up type that believes the world revolves around her, and god too apparently, and has no doubt committed crimes while in office. Why not, in her mind she deserves to take advantage of everything and everyone as she is gods anointed one.

Organizers declined to say how much it has raised, and had hoped to raise about $500,000 If everyone in the US gave one cent they would raise $3 000 000 or six times this amount. Support would seem to be falling fast.

zurcronium:she is the same messed up type that believes the world revolves around her, and god too apparently, and has no doubt committed crimes while in office

Bang on, my fine friend! She has no ethics. And her crimes are so numerous I can't be bothered to list them,or even search for proof.

Well, anyway, I'm relieved she lost last November and that the few remaining bush supporters here had to deal with the shellacking.

An investigator for the state Personnel Board says in his July 14 report that there is probable cause to believe Palin used or attempted to use her official position for personal gain because she authorized the creation of the trust as the “official” legal defense fund"

There are tonnes of these types of funds. I even give to several. Didn't know they are illegal. She as a politician should have known they were.

  • 0

    smithinjapan

SuperLib: "Why am I forced to still see headlines about this woman?"

No one forces you to read the article and/or post, my friend. Am I allowed to post that fact, being non-American and all? :)

She wanted the media attention and stardom, she got it (just not the calendar girl stuff she wanted). It's up to you whether or not you pay attention to it, being that it's so trivial to you.

Anyway, I have no doubt this is the last ethics probe we'll hear in regard to this woman. She completely flaunted the rules of her position before running out to take in more money, and dolt still has the gall to suggest she might run for President.

    She is not.

"and has no doubt committed crimes while in office"

The ones who are committing crimes in office are the Democrats who are bankrupting our country.

"Heh, palin's only a serious GOP '12 contender to the radical left on JT.

The rest of the world has gladly forgotten her."

Heh, that must be why, next to Obama, Palin is the politician most people are interested in.

Just about every other state in the union has laws protecting public officials from these type of complaints. I suspect Alaska will soon as well. I suspect in addition, they'll put in place a defense fund to help protect public officials from harassment such as Governor Palin was subjected to. In my opinion, having been disproved, the cost of these ethics complaints should born by those who complained. The governor shouldn't have to have a huge debt simply caused by defending herself from her critics. And this is in fact what the situation is.

That sure is a mighty fine non-biased article written by that fair minded Shannyn Moore.

Molenir, Sorry. Still don't get what the problem is. What is the difference here from her raising funds to help her vice raising funds for an election?

People stop or slow down to gawk at an automobile accident also. America was also "interested in" Bernie Madoff. America is "interested in" the freaks and bad guys of society as well as the good guys like Obama.

The poor gal. On Oct. 24, 2008, a complaint contended Palin abused her power by charging the state when her children traveled with her. Palin agreed to reimburse the state about $10,000 for costs associated with 10 trips found to be of questionable state interest.

Isn't this the poor gal who remodeled her Mayoral office at $50,000, without council approval, in the beginning of her political career? Isn't this that poor gal who went on a shopping spree for her $150,000-plus designer wardrobe. You can bet she was pissed when the publicity forced her to give the clothes back at the end of the campaign. You know she would have kept them otherwise. By the way it is still somewhat unclear exactly what "charity" received the Designer Diva Collection. We really need a website that has pictures of this stuff. Then we can keep an eye out for the gal slummin' it in her charity clothes.

Isn't this the gal who had a sport's complex built in Wassila and just forgot to purchase the land darn it? Doh! The Sports Complex was a hugely expensive project for the small town of Wasilla, costing the town an additional $1.3 million in legal fees due to legal land title issues, overlooked by Palin as Mayor, which plunged the town into debt that it’s still attempting to recover from.

If the state Personnel Board rules against her, I still have my doubts, it will be because the evidence was overwhelming that she violated ethics. The state Personnel Board has been in her hip pocket. Sarah Palin abused her power when she fired Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan. A commission from the state legislature, with a majority of Republicans, said so. But then the Personnel Board rushed a finding of no violation to help her during the election.

Sarah Palin is being maligned yet again by the liberal media of America, because they recognise in her a sincere woman and also a threat to the Democratic Party come the next elections. She is the kind of decent, all-American woman that used to be in vogue, until America lost its brains and its guts, and succumbed to Obamaism. I hope to live to see her as President in the White House one day in the not too distant future, after Obama has finished wrecking America and democracy around tha world.

sailwind took the time to post two comments. Both of them to discredit the writer. You would think someone who could dispute the article would do so instead of giving an ad hominem argument that doesn't wash. The article is a factual representation of events.

The article presents Palin's side and includes her defenders. "Palin posted an entry on Twitter in which she said the “matter is still pending,” a statement echoed by her lawyer." The article included several statements by John Coale in defense of Palin. What defense of Palin was not included?

sailwind compares this article to Rush Limbaugh. Rush is incapable of reporting news. He only has one function and that is to present his high school education based knowledge as as the epitome of the facts that every good conservative should learn.

sailwind cannot attack this article on its merit so he attacks the writer. You know what the real problem he has with this article? Facts. He can't stand the facts it contains.

Back to the article in question, though, yes, she is only next to Obama in popularity on Japan Today. In regards to INFAMY, however, she has it hands down as #1, and deserves it. The funny thing is she proves herself wrong many times and then QUITS because she can't handle the backlash.

Sarge, I must have missed your reply to another poster's queston to you last week - can you categorically state that you think Sarah Palin would make a good president of the US?

  • 0

    smithinjapan

sarge: "I laugh whenever I see people who can't prove the woman wrong about anything reduced to insulting her."

What I laugh at is the fact that you've seen hundreds of posts of people proving her wrong but simply choose to pretend they don't exist. Well, I find it more sad than 'funny', but then it wouldn't be sarge if the blinders came off. You came pretty close the day Obama one the election.... scarily close to seeing things, but the next day you seemed to forget all about the kind of lies and politics that lost McCain/dolt the election and went back to supporting the same tired old lies. Hence, 'funny' (sad).

    Keep up the denial though.

"No, I've seen hundreds of posts by people insulting her."

Sorry, bud, but I thought I was pretty clear when I distinguished between your 'seeing' something and 'choosing to acknowledge it', but since you choose not to acknowledge the existence of even that truth I'm not really surprised.

"No, counting all of the mass media, next to Obama Palin is the politician people are most interested in. Check it out!"

I did. YouTube is one of the best 'mass media' sites for palin interviews, speeches, and more. Again, stop calling some 'mass media' only when it fits your brand of politics.

Look, amigo -- err... sarge: It is a FACT that palin is a laughing stock, world-wide. It is a fact that she is walking out of her job part way through her first term, making her even more of a laughing stock.

I want to see if you can admit it though, sarge: do you admit the fact that sarah palin is quitting her job before her first term is over? A simple 'yes' or 'no' will suffice. If the answer is 'yes', why on earth do you think she's qualified to lead the country from 2012? If your answer is 'no', well...

Global Joke Sarah Palin needs a makeover and fast.

She is being ravaged by ethics complaints (funny how they just keep on coming!), and then when she just can't handle the pressure any more, she bails and jumps over the side.

The funny thing is that it's pretty clear that some GOP/conservatives think that quitting mid-term is a sound qualification for being president of the US.

And as for others who are getting upset by the level of abuse being hurled at Global Joke Sarah Palin, maybe they should also consider just how much has been self-inflicted.

Most of it, in my view.

Global Joke Sarah Palin has not just put a silver bullet through the heart of her political credibility, but she has taken down John McCain and the GOP with her.

That's one heckkuva achievement all the soccer moms in Walissa can be proud of. :-)

    JoeBigs

Sarge at 11:04 PM JST - 22nd July "you've seen hundreds of posts of people proving her wrong" No, I've seen hundreds of posts by people insulting her.

Sarge, you are half correct. You know me and what I think of her (as a choice for V.P she is really lacking not to mention a choice for President....ALASAKA! and all) But, where there is smoke there is fire.

She has damaged her cause by her constant mistakes when it comes to the law. Now, please, I am not saying that she has done something wrong. But, if you were a politician and you were in office, would you opened a legal defense fund account in your name. What would people think?

"An investigator for the state Personnel Board says in his July 14 report that there is probable cause to believe Palin used or attempted to use her official position for personal gain because she authorized the creation of the trust as the “official” legal defense fund."

    Why would you have too?

Either she has the wrong handlers (which I believe she does) or she is not that bright. What ever is the case, she needs Karl Rove to come and save her.

I am sorry, but when McCain picked her as his VP I thought she was lacking. This just proves to me that she really, really, really needs a whole lot of help....

Someone needs to save her from her home down handlers before her next room is a cell.

She needs better handlers who have a clue about politics. Rather than her home town old friends. If you do not have the common sense to hire experienced people you are open to any form of attacks. This shows her leadership abilities and they are really lacking.

The Republicans need to find folks who know what they are doing rather than folks who they think know what they are doing...

    Again I yell out, ALASKA?"

  • 0

    smithinjapan

    Hmmm....

A wee challenge of: "Do you admit the fact that sarah palin is quitting her job before her first term is over?" and sarge simply cannot answer with a 'yes' or 'no'.

Says a lot about the young buck.

I don't think I've heard a single of the very, very few remaining palin supporters admit even that simple fact that she's quitting. They can't, really, because they know in their heard of hearts that she's a coward who cannot finish anything she puts her mind to, and so is not even close to being fit to be POTUS. Admitting she couldn't even complete a SINGLE TERM as Governor -- something they had to mention over and over in the election against Biden and Obama (that the latter was lacking in experience, and so palin was the right choice!) -- is a step towards admitting that she is unfit for any post with even an inkling of responsibility. Even if they DO someday admit the fact she's walking out of her job (will be past tense by that time!), it will be followed by, "B-b-b-b-ut it's all the Dems' fault!" or some other ludicrous 'logic'.

As has been said, it's no surprise so many ethics probes are being lined up against her -- she simply has no ethics. She is possibly fit to lead the chow line in a prison, but then she'd probably still play victim there too, and some on here would STILL support her, claiming she has 'leadership skills' even numerous institutions.

I thought sailwind was talking about this article not an article SushiSake3 referenced. My errors were unintentional and I still maintain sailwind intentionally misrepresents and mischaracterizes me. If you scream media bias enough people will not know what the hell you are talking about unless you clearly state what article. I did not use Shannyn's name because I had not verified that she wrote this article. I did not read all the comments because I spend a great deal of time researching facts not others opinions. I would be glad to hold the aggregate of my posts up to the scrutiny of the most careful fact checker if others are willing to do the same.

    hworta269

Well since all these probes were launched after the presidential campagn and her only real crime seems to be running against the great obama in the election I want to chuck this up to petty politics.

  • 0

    smithinjapan

hworta: "Well since all these probes were launched after the presidential campagn and her only real crime seems to be running against the great obama in the election I want to chuck this up to petty politics."

What you can chalk up to 'petty politics' is the fact that any cases brought against her while the Republicans were still in power were shut down rather quickly, especially the Troopergate issue. Now THAT was bad politics -- or simply just corruption and abuse of power. It only makes sense that now that the opposition is in power the facts are not blocked and come to light.

You can bet that if the Republicans continue to exist as a party in the future and can ever win an election again that secrets kept by the current admin. will come to light. All parties and governments have them, and opposition make it a point to bring them to the public eye in part to ruin the reputation of the other and cement their own government. Call that petty if you like, but the fact remains that what comes to light often deals with corruption and even illegality, and the covering up was just as petty.

  • 0

    hworta269

Some of these ethics complaints were lodged by private citizens who worked in the obama campaign and the investigator was a legal adviser for obama so yeah I think its all petty politics. The national and state governments arent joined at the hips like that. No all of these probes could have been launched at any time but they were all launched after the campaign which was 2 years after the democrats came to power. And palin is not the only one being investigated. Almost everyone who disagrees with obama publicaly is being harassed, fired, or illegally having their private lives put in the public view. You can bet that republicans never sink to these low levels of basically political persecution that we are seeing today. Whats more is they want to investigate Bush for things that Obama not only failed to get rid of but has expanded in a blatant show of just how partisan these biased investigations.
