“Especially when all these lawmakers are lining up for office,” she said. “Their desire would be to clobber the administration left and right so that they can position themselves for office. I’m not going to put Alaskans through that.”

Right, but she is willing to put all of America through that with a run for the Whitehouse in 2012.

What a complete and utter dolt!

'If I'm president, great. If I die, I die. But I'm a fighter, and I wish the White House was (she would never say 'were') like a fish run', etc. Pretty cavalier attitude mixed with stupidity -- fortunately she'll never have to carry that whimsical attitude into the White House, because she won't even get the nod to run from her own party.

“President Obama is growing government outrageously, and it’s immoral and it’s uneconomic, his plan that he tries to sell America,” Palin told Time. “His plan to ‘put America on the right track’ economically, incurring the debt that our nation is incurring, trillions of dollars that we’re passing on to our kids, expecting them to pay off for us, is immoral and doesn’t even make economic sense.”

No, my dear... what doesn't make sense is your English. It's funny as hell to read and listen to, though.

Big Government: Australia has universal health care, spend 8.8% of GDP. Small Government: US has only private health care, spends 16% of GDP, millions uncovered. Conclusion: Some things are better run by the government. There's nothing wrong with 'Big Government'.

cow76: comparing Australia's big government to the US's big government is crazy. If lived in Australia I'd probably welcome the idea of big government because its simply not that big! Additoinally, unlike the Oz government, they don't seem to walk into almost every aspect of you life, Aussies still have a lot of choices they can make for themselves.

Smith: so, now that you favorite one to pick on is now gone, who you gonna pick on now?

    Moderator: Stay on topic please.

skip: haven't you noticed? there's no shame about rubbing palin's complete lack of responsibility, and general ineptitude, in past supporter's (or worse yet, those who refuse to see the truth!) faces. Many are not doubt hiding the fact that they supported her, but that doesn't mean she's going to grow a brain overnight. Plus, she still says she's 'not ruling out any options'.

On the contrary, skip -- I look forward to hearing more brainfarts come out of her mouth, and out of those who support her. Besides, my favourite one to pick on is your past president; you should know that. I'm hoping for a book that's half bushisms and half palin interviews. Instant comedy best seller!

"President Obama is growing government outrageously"

No, no, he's just "investing" in America.

"What a complete and utter dolt"

What a completely and utterly doltish comment.

There's nothing wrong with 'Big Government'.

Geez, where does one even begin with a such an absurd statement. Let's see, how about the Bolshevik revolution.

Palin is getting media attention due her personality/looks, politcally she is dead already... if i die, i die...yeah holds true for anybody.

"Sarah Palin says she’s not a quitter"

    • right after she quit. lol!!

This is so typical of the up-is-down, black-is-white, defeat-is-victory, illegal-invasion-is-liberation hard right U.S. extremists. They clearly live in a parallel universe where everything is the opposite of reality.

Helter Skelter - "Geez, where does one even begin with a such an absurd statement. Let's see, how about the Bolshevik revolution."

ha ha ha! Helter, if you are so clearly petrified with big government, please specify why and how it is so 'bad.'

Japan has universal health care and many foreigners have taken advantage of it to their benefit.

sarge: "What a completely and utterly doltish comment."

Nah, just the 'retort'. She's a dolt, sarge, face it. And a quitter to boot.

Sushi: "This is so typical of the up-is-down, black-is-white, defeat-is-victory, illegal-invasion-is-liberation hard right U.S. extremists. They clearly live in a parallel universe where everything is the opposite of reality."

Is that why the person sarge says is going to win always loses?

  • 0

    SushiSake3

What I love about conservatives is that from what I have read on JT, not one of them has actually said they think Sarah Palin is a good potential candidate for president - except for Sarge, who has claimed he admires what she has "done for her family." (like that's relevant to running a country of 300 million).

No, it's pretty clear conservatives do not, in fact, think Sarah Palin is a good potential candidate for president - they only refrain from bashing her so as not to be seen to be running against the party line. :-)

smithinJapan - "Is that why the person sarge says is going to win always loses?"

Sarge hasn't made an accurate call on any major issue since...circa 2002?

But we still love him. :-)

If Palin runs in 2012 and gets the nomination, she is going to get soundly beaten by Obama.

"Two-thirds of Republicans want Palin, the party's vice presidential nominee in 2008, to be "a major national political figure" in the future. Three-fourths of Democrats hope she won't be."

    Source: www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2009-07-07-palin-poll_N.htm

Awesome - just like putting a rocket launcher to the head of the GOP and pulling the trigger.

As another poster said recently, even the bottom tier GOP contenders for president will have Palin for breakfast in the debates and expose her as the total joke she has become.

A vote for Sarah Palin is a vote to throw the GOP under the bus, lol!!!

Sarge - "If Palin runs in 2012 and gets the nomination, she is going to get soundly beaten by Obama."

Sarah Palin will be soundly beaten by the bottom-rung GOP candidates for president first. :-)

Conservatives' belief in Sarah Palin as a serious candidate for president underlines one thing - they don't give a toss about America, but I'm betting her first campaign pledge will be to allow Americans more "freedoms" to shoot wolves from aircraft. :-)

Ok, "Sarge hasn't made an accurate[, sincere] call on any major issue since...circa 2002?"

    Is that better?

sarge: "If Palin runs in 2012 and gets the nomination, she is going to get soundly beaten by Obama."

It doesn't work if you intentionally lie about your feelings, sarge. We know in your heart of hearts you think the dolt palin would win, and that's all that matters. You cannot intentionally predict the opposite to have what you want come true -- it just doesn't work that way. If you sarcastically predict Obama will win, you'll only see Obama win because you know you want palin to.

    Good try, though.

As Sushi said, anyway, Palin would be beaten by even the lowest denomination on the Republican ticket before that. Let's face it, it's not "if I die, I die"; she's already politically dead. Has a lot going for her with her comedy book soon to come out, and probably heaps of Couric-style comedic interviews, but politcally she did herself in even more by calling it quits when people were depending on her. You don't pee on your constituents, tell them YOU'RE the victim and refuse to apologize or explain, then ask them for their votes again a little while later.

Of course I did but sarge will not use such sarcasm if we/you say he hasn't made a sincere, accurate prediction. I like to rob sarge of his tools.

smithinjapan eluded to my intention in his last post.

Hey SushiSake3 I just noticed you called me goofDonkey; did you mean to call me goofDonkey you meanie?

goodDonkey: "smithinjapan eluded to my intention in his last post."

Damn... did I forget to give credit where credit is due? I always try to do give proper credit; like when I said bush was indeed responsible for current crises despite Helter's claim he was not. I give palin full credit for her mental deficiencies, and gave sarge credit for his uncanny ability to predict what is the opposite of what will happen.

As I said, I always try to give credit where it's due. Did I miss something? :)

I'm not sure that she stands a chance running for the presidency but then again I don't see a lot of Republicans with name recognition who are stepping up. Just that guy ranting about Jackson. Not much to build a platform on.

At least she is sticking her head out. More guts than others. Maybe less sense, but more guts.
