As long as she sticks to reality TV we are ok. Just stay out of politics. Personally I'd like to see her in a porno.

"Stop relying on government."

This is at the heart of conservatism. I agree with it. Unfortunately we are being ruled by liberals who think we should be relying more and more on the government. The Republican takeover in the House will hopefully slow or stop that.

Some Republican pundits are calling Palin on this: back in 2008, a McCain-Palin ad mocking Obama the biggest celebrity in the world. (Remember that? Featuring Paris Hilton?) Now you can turn that ad around and point it at Palin.

"Palin's TV series a stage for political future?"

Mmmm, yeah, a little red meat for a slow Sunday nite...

She did confirm that you can see Russia on a clear day! :p

I think it is smart to put up a fence, videotape Libs, then sue them. Maybe Palin is smarter than most people give her credit for. If we all just started to sue the Libs/Globalists the world would quickly be a better place and society would improve.

Bad example since Palin is being groomed by Kissinger, but the concept did rock my mind.

I think its pretty cool and loving the fact that her program is on "The Learning Channel". That has got to make some liberals cringe and go nuts just by itself.

Just when you thought the American Right couldn't get any worse, it does.

Sarge - "The Republican takeover in the House will hopefully slow or stop that."

Sorry, the Republican/TP takeover of the House will virtually guarantee that a once respectable country gets hurled back to the doctrines of the 18th century.

There may be some people still left out there who will actually get a kick out of that. :-)

“I love watching these mama bears,” Palin tells the TLC camera. “They’ve got a nature, yeah, that humankind could learn from. She’s trying to show her cubs, ‘Nobody’s gonna do it for ya. You get out there and do it yourself, guys.’”

Doesn't she see the obvious contradiction? Yes, there will come a time when the cubs will grow up and become contributors to the bear population. But until that time, they will need strong protectors and models to learn from.

Yabits, Our Sarah doesn't see much past her window, and by the way, because I don't particularly like Sarah Palin, I must hate all women. :-)

"She did confirm that you can Russia on a clear day!"

"Our Sarah doesn't see much past her window"

This confirms that some people still confuse Sarah Palin with Tina Fey.

Unfortunately we are being ruled by liberals who think we should be relying more and more on the government. The Republican takeover in the House will hopefully slow or stop that.

When have Republicans ever reduce government spending or the size of government? Democrats and Republicans have one big thing in common Government waste (they just waste it in different ways), that and easily bamboozled followers.

Palin's actual quote is as follows: "They're our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska." What made the quote so clownish is that Palin was suggesting that Alaska's proximity to the Russian land mass gave her some kind of edge in foreign affairs.

This is only slightly less stupid than the people who'd buy her point.

"Palin was suggesting that Alaska's proximity to Russia land mass gave her some kind of edge in foreign affairs"

In your mind, yabits, in your mind. All she was doing was pointing out that you can see Russia from an area in Alaska.

Sarge - "All she was doing was pointing out that you can see Russia from an area in Alaska."

Sarge, you know that is wrong. Our Sarah was implying that being able to see Russia from Alaska gave her some sort of edge in foreign affairs, as Yabits correctly pointed out.

From memory, I think she had once considered going on a trade mission to Russia but never made it.

In the 2008 campaign she reeked desperation and neediness to get a badge of credibility in foreign affairs.

Then she said Africa was a country and everything folded - she had proved her Russia-Alaska quote wasn't just a slip of the tongue - it was a symptom of a misguided, seriously ill-informed mind.

But go ahead and vote for her if you like. :-)

In your mind, yabits, in your mind. All she was doing was pointing out that you can see Russia from an area in Alaska.

Yes, Sarge. In your mind, that's all she was doing. That's why you can't explain the following passage where Palin was asked to explain the quote futher:

Q: You've cited Alaska's proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean by that? Explain to me why that enhances your foreign policy credentials.

Palin: Well, it certainly does because our-- our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They're in the state that I am the executive of. And there in Russia--

Can you hear the air rushing out of your argument, sarge?

Palin is playing the "will she or won't she run" speculation on the part of the media for all it's worth. I really don't think she is going to run - we will have to wait and see - but that's what it seems like to me. Newt Gingrich has been doing the same thing for more than a decade and is doing very well for himself. She has found her niche in American politics. She is very influential among conservatives and is making a good living for herself. If she does surprise me and run, I don't think she will last very far into the primaries in 2012. America has just elected a very inexperienced person for president, and the nation always looks for the opposite of the last unpopular president. The next Republican nominated will likely be a governor with two terms experience.

The one thing I love about Palin is how a conservative woman can drive Liberals so crazy with irrational hatred and disdain - especially female Liberals. She is a strong, independent, and successful woman and they just can't comprehend how such a woman can be conservative. They therefore heap derision upon her and declare that she should not be taken seriously.

yabits/Sushi - Palin was just trying to emphasize that her state's neighbor is a foreign country - Russia. Admittedly it wasn't the best answer to give to that snotty Couric.

"Then she said Africa was a country"

Everyone misspeaks from time to time. Do you really think Palin thought Africa was just one country? Do you really think Obama thought there are 57 states? Well, in Barack's case... it's possible!

She is a strong, independent, and successful woman and [liberals] just can't comprehend how such a woman can be conservative.

Strong, but not strong enough to face the ethics charges brought against her as governor of Alaska, and not strong enough to finish a single term in office. I have a hard time calling that successful.

With an unfavorable opinion rating that registers well above sixty percent with independent voters, and over fifty percent among all voters, it's not just liberals who find her unqualified and unsuitable for higher office.

Naturally, someone who helps to show a side of Palin that she doesn't want others to see will be called "snotty."

Why Palin would feel the need to emphasize that Russia is a foreign country is very interesting.

Judge her and the series by what it does for tourism in Alaska - which I predict is going to see a huge rise.

Strong, but not strong enough to face the ethics charges brought against her as governor of Alaska, and not strong enough to finish a single term in office.

She had over 20 completely frivolous lawsuits or ethics complaints brought against by partisan Dem cranks intent on bankrupting her since, by state law, she had to answer each and with legal representation of course. Who wouldn't quit office if it means constant harassment?

How the Democrat Party bigwigs must rue truly idiotic legal stalking of this sort - now she is bigger than ever.

Hey, at least Palin knows the US has 50 states, unlike our teleprompter-in-chief.

She had over 20 ... lawsuits or ethics complaints brought against [her]

Where there's that much smoke, there's certain to be fire.

by partisan Dem cranks

By an independent investigator, appointed by a heavily-Republican state legislature.

Who wouldn't quit office if it means constant harassment?

Someone who is strong enough to want to keep their name and reputation cleared. Of course, nolo contendre has been used by Republican crooks since Spiro Agnew.

yabits - wow you really are a partisan Demo and a Palin-hater.

How the Democrat Party bigwigs must rue truly idiotic legal stalking of this sort - now she is bigger than ever.

She's bigger than ever because the Republicans adore and admire self-promoting abusers of power with R's attached to their name.

The people who have actually made her "bigger than ever" -- Fox News, et. al. -- could have just as easily helped pay her legal bills in a fight to clear her name. I give them credit for knowing a bad investment when they see one.

The people who have actually made her "bigger than ever" -- Fox News, et. al.

I guess 'et al' is the book - buying public. Palin's book outsold both of Obama's ghostwritten biographies.

And besides - I thought Fox were all a bunch of misogynist old white guys. Why would they want to promote some woman from Alaska when they could promote a white male from Texas or deep red Alabama? Have you forgotten your talking points?

LOL! Let me just start with: Barack Obama Tim Geithner Hillary Clinton Charlie Rangel Barney Frank Andrew Cuomo Bill Richardson ....

the Demo list goes on and on...

What would be the Democrat's idea of an equivalent to a show like this - maybe Stepping Out With Michelle, in which we follow the First Lady as she kicks off her 10-day 4,000-dollar a night Hawaii vacation in $635 designer shoes by Maison Martin Margiela, and stoops to lecture the American public on the need to cut back on 'indulgences' ?

I would love to see Palin and Obama compete on Jeopardy. Whoever the 3rd contestant is will win ALOT of cash!!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

And besides - I thought Fox were all a bunch of misogynist old white guys

Misrepresentations of the liberal take on Fox are evidently your talking points.

In the four responses that followed my post, there was no way to address former-governor Palin's serial abuse of power. Sarah "Nolo Contendre" Palin.

The real series for her should be a cooking show where they turn up a little heat in the kitchen and she consistently bails out through a window.

yabits - wow you really are a partisan Demo and a Palin-hater

What is wrong with disdaining crooks, liars and quitters?

Well, well, this ought to have some heads exploding:

Sarah Palin’s documentary / travelogue / reality / biopic shattered TLC ratings records Sunday night.

The debut of Sarah Palin’s Alaska delivered a whopping 5 million viewers.

says the Hollywood Reporter.

TLC ratings....

LOL!!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

5 million viewers in cable is pretty good. But it's how many people that stay week after week that matters. Many people tune-in initially to see how a show is, curiosity. Once they know how it is, once the curiosity has been satisfied, then it's just up to the entertainment value.

Regardless, nobody can complain about any politician's celebrity status anymore. Obama can have his MTV crowd; Palin can have her TLC.
