Violence by police begets violence. At least the French get off their derrieres and try to change things!

Heh, like the police in Paris aren't violent....

The dumbasses think they're Starsky and Hutch. Things are going to come to a head big time before sarko leaves the building methinks.

It won't be long before Paris is burning again.

Liberals must always find something to complain about.

"Liberals must always find something to complain about."

It isn't as if France is in a very calm state at the minute - claiming this is because of liberals choosing to constantly moan (whilst having some credibility) shows you don't have a clue what is going on here.

In fact it's those of us capitalist pigs here that are seething the most, since us small businesses are the back-bone of the country - but you won't see us striking because for one, we can't afford to, and secondly even if I could I've got too much work on. The amount of social charges we have to give for the social system each trimester is absolutely shocking - count paying each and every salary twice each month - one for the employer and one for the state.

When you know fine well that this money is going to pay for the career RMI'istes to sit on their asses at the home's we're paying for them (bills included) and smoke pot all day long and get fat, I can assure you the last thing I'm thining of is liberalism.

And then there's the hoardes of government "workers". Don't let me go there....

You need to appreciate (in the most Liberal way) that you are paying these people to sit on their ass to complain. =They are doing what you are paying them to do. If you were not paying them they would be forced to get a job.

    Japan has talentos. (similiar idea)

U.S. Has Al (JetSet) Gore. He sells untruthful movies, carbon credits and offsets. He wants to regulate (tax) the amount and quality of CO2 that each and everyone of US emits.

    Palestinians and PLO (self-explanitory)

"If you were not paying them they would be forced to get a job."

Stop paying the social charges here and the URSAF will seize all your bank accounts and shut you down in a scary short space of time.

I don't want to pay them a penny, believe me. The fact of the matter is that there is no solidarity between the small business. The unions here think they're so mighty but they're aways in the streets for the wrong reasons - and the adherents are often the better off, especially those lazy bastards working at the SNCF (French rail) retiring at 50 on full pay.....

....were the small businesses to form a union and stand together and say "right, enough is enough - nobody pay the charges".

The country would be brought to a standstill. But I agree it is the whacked-out socialists that have got us in this mess. Frankly, choosing between them and sarko in the last election was no difference between the one prior between the facist Le Pen, and money-grubbing chirac.

We went to the ballots with pegs on the noses.

One (of many) things that the French have over Americans: Solidarity.

The French understand that an injustice to one is an injustice against all and are more likely to react to it, as such events occur. Americans are more likely to think that whoever is getting screwed by the system has got it coming -- and completely forget the words of Benjamin Franklin. Words, which the French live out: "Either we all hang together, or we all hang separately."
