Another Democratic Party first -- First woman Speaker of the House.

Makes since for her to run because her only competition is Heath Shuler. Heh, that's how low the U.S. democrat/socialists have sunk.

Ah , yes. Nothing like a nascent civil war in the Democrat Party to add to the immense satisfaction the events of last Tuesday brought America and the world.

Hopefully, Blinky will remain the rich, shrill, bullying, irrational face of her party in the House of Representatives. That will serve as extra insurance that the Republicans will maintain or even add to their gains in two years.

It's too bad the first woman Speaker of the House had to be Nancy Pelosi.

Pelosi said Friday she will try to stay on as leader of her party in the House.

Heh, because American voters last Tuesday said she did such an outstanding job when she was in control of the entire House.

I fully endorse Nancy Pelosi as House minority leader. Together with Ried as majority leader in the Senate and Obama, they will ensure another republican landslide in 2012.

Pelosi is remarkably unpopular right now. I'm not sure what the long term political ramifications of keeping her on would be.

Personally, I find her highly unlikable. Still, the Republican attempts to demonize her as some sort of archliberal fiend are a bit... shall we say, over the top?

Well, what ever happens, at least she can say she was the first female speaker of the house, and that she managed to pass many major pieces of legislation. It's an achievement that is often overlooked, as there is a strong impression that with both the Presidency, House, and Senate under thier control that the Democrats should have been able to do even more than they did, Republican obstructionism not withstanding.

"Gots to buy me some more popcorn, maybe a new easy chair"

    Yeah?

The attention span of modern Americans seems to be reducing if that's actually possible. When the GOP can't fix the economy and the un-employment over-night as many Americans will be expecting now, well, I'll have some of your recent high-pitched comments to hit y'all with sometime around 2012.

Pelosi and all the Dems need to get on the ball and get the US economy back up on it's feet! I am a Democrat, but even I who want to see Rush Limbaugh burn in hell, wish these ditto heads could at least make Pelosi and all the other politicians give back their salaries, you know to kind of make them feel the pain of the regular American people.

Princess Pelosi, staying on. If you tried, I don't think you could script the scenario better for Republicans.

Thanks for your snide opinion about Americans Madverts, always enjoy a good insult from one who lives in France.

Why should she resign? I don't see what she did wrong. She knows where the bodies are buried. If she wants the fight, she should have it.

"Pelosi and all the Dems need to get on the ball and get the US economy back up on it's feet"

But only yesterday the GOP was crowing about how they are in charge. Did they give up already and just get back to "blame Obama" mode?

"Personally, I find her highly unlikable. Still, the Republican attempts to demonize her as some sort of archliberal fiend are a bit..."

My sentiments exactly. But you know, the Dem gals, if I may be so bold, are not mannequins. Anybody with half a brain in this world can be irritating, right wing posters on JT prove it every day. But Pelosi, Ferraro (check out what she said about the elections!), and Hillary are very very good at what they do. You won't catch Couric grilling them about what magazines they read, she will get her head bit off and run away crying and ashamed. If someone finds a Democratic Senator or Rep who happens to be a woman who could not beat O'Donnell at checkers, I will eat my hat. Even McMahon and Fiorina would be lightweights in the political realm against Pelosi, Boxer, Clinton, etc.

They are sharp. A lot of men don't like that. I think it is hot hot hot. And I can't think of anybody better anyway.

Obama wants to be conciliatory and compromising? Bah. Obama needs her in a gang fight. She will be the one swinging broken bottles in each hand. Pelosi is a wood chipper saying "FEED ME." Little Shop of Fargo.

She has another important achievement: she is the only Dem to whom Bachman and Angle have never said, "Man up." That says a lot.

Heh, yeah, keep thinking that. More then obvious you didn't watch the O'Donnell/Coons debate. She ate his lunch. He came of as a idiot, she came off looking great. And Boxer? Come on, the gal has long been considered the worst Senator in Congress. In comparison, Californias other Senator is a genius. And Fiorina, is a successful businesswoman. Political infighting is nothing compared to corporate infighting.

Are you joking? Seriously, go watch that debate, she made the man look like an idiot. O'Donnell was great. Much smarter, and more on point then Coons was.

"The Democrats' gift to Speaker Boehner: Pelosi as Minority Leader," said Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.), a deputy whip, on Twitter. "I endorse Nancy Pelosi for Minority Leader."

America has not seen Dem losses in the House this big since 1938. At the state level an absolute wipeout, and at the worst possible time.

Say, what is the name of that little rodent that runs, en masse, over cliffs and to its death?

A lemming old friend. Only that's a falsehood too.

And if the electorate are peeved now, imagine what they'll be like in 2 years time. Heh, it will be interesting to see the new names appear once again...
