Dude had some serious antisocial issues. Instead of seeking help, he went off the deep end. I encourage all of you who are experiencing similar problems in life, to seek help, before you do something that many will regret.

    Untreated mental illness.

There's no excuse for murder, but nineteen years without any attention from the opposite sex must ahve truly been hell. Who's to say that it wouldn't have driven even the best of us insane?

If you've got a husband, wife, lover, "sefure", or who-knows-what, thank them profusely next time you see them, and let them know how much they mean to you. All human beings need love! Not being able to attract the opposite sex doesn't make you a "loser"; the people around you to whom you might not be attracted -- treat them civilly and respectfully.

He hadn’t had a girlfriend since 1984, hadn’t slept with a woman in 19 years. “Women just don’t like me.

Not to sound too crude on this, but all he had to do was take a Southwest flight to Las Vegas, and go out into the Clark County area outside of the city limits and taken care of this problem.

There is not excuse for this type of action.

Score another victory for the NRA. The loon legally bought his gun with the express purpose of murder. The NRA deserves full credit for allowing these deaths to happen.

Of course the NRA response will be that all aerobics student should be packing their own guns while the work out, or something loony like that. Or that computers kill people, not guns.

I was kinda thinking the same thing. Unfortunately, America's "freemarket capitalism" isn't as free in that sector. I don't think he would have gotten the satisfaction that he was yearning for but perhaps it would have kept him to his natural death leading a life of quiet desperation. It's a cold, cruel world out there.... often we unnecessarily make it worse out of contrived value systems.

All the more reason not to leave guns lying around for the brainless to pick up and use when they have a tantrum and don't realize for a few bucks they can go get laid. Not the most esteem raising of sexual encounters, perhaps, but if that was the underlying reason behind him wanting to massacre as many as possible with the easiest tools legally available, well, he should have just gotten a hooker.

I have no doubt they'll go make an appearance at a gym any day now and talk about how they've developed shotguns that actually look like dumb-bells and come in different weights and sizes. You can have a gun handy for any given moment AND exercise -- you're exercising not only your right to bear arms, but for the arms that bear them to be BUFF!

In what foreign newspaper or BBC broadcast or foreign comedy programme has the National Rifle Association been made responsible for the mental health of each and every of America's 300 million citizens?

  • zurcronium at 03:11 AM JST - 7th August

The NRA is responsible for their being more guns in the US than people. And for making it so easy to buy guns that criminals or potential criminals can get them quicker than a fishing license. 15,000 deaths per year in the USA due to NRA pushed cheap handguns. 15,000 lives that the NRA helped end.

The NRA cares about only one thing, selling guns. Deaths from those guns they do not care about at all.

Another story of shooting. Two days in a row...

A disgruntled man who bungled up his life barging in with a firearm blazing...,

It's so terrifying that some people are so easily going insane and the guns are so easily accessible to such psycho-maniacs and whacko-heads.

  • frontandcentre at 05:53 PM JST - 7th August

Sounds like it was his attitude towards women that was the problem - since there are major losers everywhere with girlfriends. This is clearly a case of mental illness and deep down he was possibly a repressed homosexual.

    Uh, he's dead.

The758: Sorry I missed that he offed himself. That just p*sses me off because this psycho got off without punishment.

No, the Constitution is responsible for the right to own a gun. Instead of denying that it does, or trying to make the argument that this is the only part of the entire Constitution that doesn't apply to individuals, why don't Liberals try to amend the Constitution? If an admendment banning the individual right to bear arms has merit it will win the support of the American people. There are plenty of anti-NRA groups out there to push for it. Get out the grassroots. Start "astro-turfing" as Liberals like to do. You can even get the president to start up a program in the White House to identify individuals or organizations that are propogating "fishy" information about your anti-gun amendment.

Sodini was a crazy man and he could have just as easily made a pipe-bomb to kill and injure those people. Then what would you do, outlaw pipes?
