So the Pentagon is issuing the warning because it does not want to root out gays because it knows they are valuable members ; so just let everyone serve openly.

Our armed forces make up something less than 1 percent of the population. I have a hard time believing this is the biggest news out of America these days...

But even if they stay silent, all they have to do is find the Lady GaGa fans and round them up. DADT is just a fig leaf to hide discrimination.

Just like slavery, everyone knew it was wrong long before it was ever legally barred. Society has moved on and now the military needs to catch up. I want a military based on merit and principles, not on sexual preference. If discrimination keeps a talented and dedicated soldier from doing their job in defense of freedom, then I am against it.

Bin Laden likes discrimination, which is a good enough reason to be against it.

But you are probably opposed to the idea of a work place or university system where merit, not skin color, is what matters.

Where are earth do you draw that conclusion from what you quoted??

I definitely think the law needs to be appealed, and attitudes adjusted, but until it is repealed I think it's a good idea for the gays serving to keep a lid on their preferences; I can see others persecuting them and getting them kicked out of the military if the current ruling is overturned and the law reinstated.

I think that one should serve regardless of whatever. There is a natural law over and above all others. One is to give dignity and respect to all people. However, our fragile human nature, when it errors, should never be enshrined as something desireable. Let it be that each one handle his own failings. DADT policy works and should not be over turned. I think that this is common sense. When there is no moral compass, things fall apart. There are many many traditional people in America, from all backgrounds, who support the natural law. Look, we were created male and female. It is self evident. But, let me repeat, ALL should be treated with dignity and respect. We are all children of God.

I thought America was supposed to be about freedom, rights and individual liberties.
