Guilty as guilty can get!

Pistorius also described how he felt vulnerable to crime, an attempt to explain his claim that he reacted to what he thought was a dangerous intruder in his bathroom by shooting with his 9 mm pistol.

Bad things happen in life, but let me ask: How often did you use your weapon in self defense, Pistorius? The answer is clearly never, or it would have been used by the defense. More evidence that guns are more trouble than they are worth.

If he wasn't rich and famous he'd already be adapting to his new life in some hell-hole.

@ SimondB - Exactly! Like I said before, he's trying to save his image. Shoot an intruder-maybe people will sympathize. Shoot a helpless screaming girlfriend in a fit of rage-everyone will know I'm a sphincter. And a little tidbit you don't often see in the news-he was using "Black Talon" hollow point rounds. Several sharp points unfold from the bullet as it passes through what it hits-designed for maximum damage. Google it if you want to see.

When I first read his testimony, I was moved.

Then I heard it. The long, long pause while his lawyer waits for him to get round to his line about waking up to the smell of blood. The lawyer seemed to know what was coming. As if the lines had been prepped in advance.

That said, I have not yet seen the testimony. Perhaps Oscar was waving at the lawyer to wait while he composed himself to continue.

Without being in the room it's hard to be convinced, but I'm leaning heavily toward thinking he's a mediocre actor.
