Commiserations to the people of Taiwan.

To the 47 people RIP. Question is, should they have been flying in such weather conditions in the first place.

Although it was just after a typhoon passed over, shouldn't all planes have been barred from taking off? Winds and rain were very heavy.

There was really heavy rain and strong winds here in Taipei on Tuesday night / Wednesday morning, but Wednesday afternoon was sunny and no rain. So I guess when they took off the weather was similar down in Kaohsiung, and Penghu's not all that far away. My guess is the crash was nothing to do with the weather.
