I am not a Catholic, but this is my ritual every year to listen to a humble message from the Pope.

Glitter??? Maybe he should first have a good look around in his St. Peter's Dome.
The entire interior of St Peter's glitters with marble, reliefs, architectural sculpture and gilding. There are also a number of sculptures in niches and chapels, including Michelangelo's Pieta and Gianlorenzo Bernini's canopy and the symbolic Chair of St Peter.

Humility. Good on the pope. That's something I ask God for daily and something I see far too little of in the world. Good call.

Dunno some14some, the glitter seems pretty universal to me. It is really interesting how many people accuse Japan of commercialism but clearly the same exist within their own respective country. After all, I find the Pope's statement for moot, as the church as an organization is surrounded by "glitter" as Foxie quotes, "marble, reliefs, architectural sculpture and gilding."
