“He also criticized what he called the “irony of those who promote abortion as a form of ‘maternal’ health care.”
“How disconcerting the claim that the termination of life is a matter of reproductive health,” Benedict said.”
“The pope was referring to an African Union agreement signed by Angola and 44 other countries that abortion should be legal in cases of rape, incest or when the mother’s life is endangered.”
Africa is struggling to find its way into the 21st. century & then this old fool arrives to knock it right back to colonial days. His visit to Africa is doing so much damage. He should never have been allowed out of his box in Rome.

Just what is it that you condemn, did I miss something, has the baby sitter deleted something already?

Apparently, what has saved Angola from the even higher rates of HIV infection in other African countries has not been Catholicism, but their near 30 year civil war keeping the country very physically divided. Then again, Catholicism is not exactly what I would call intent on peace.

That's it??? One would expect a little more detail given the headline.
Don't knock it till you tried it. Just make sure everyone in the room is willing. I am against non-consensual sexual violence against women. What ever the heck the Pope was talking about, I have no idea.
