interesting to know vatican has a police service, as they are referred to in the article. do they have a prison in vatican as well, to depo the apprehended by them? she is now under their arrest so vatican will presumably put her on vatican court also? a viable city state indeed

There is a famous female Italian comedian in Rome. She is always dissing the Pope. The Catholic church actually sued or tried to arrest her once. Luckily, she is also a lawyer. Not even the messenger of God is above the law. Lawyers must be truly in league with the Devil!

A woman jumped the barriers in St Peter’s Basilica and knocked down Pope Benedict XVI

Seemed more like she just grabbed him. Its only because the body guard violently pulled her away that the pope followed her to the ground.

Hell Yeah - you don't ever want to know what kind of prisons they had/have in Vatican, and how many people were tortured and killed in those dungeons.

The Vatican is a state, and as such could have (and did have) all the organs of any state. Being the meanest money grabbers known to man they may now use the Italian systems that are in place around them, but legally they could if they wished use their own courts to prosecute this woman.

She is by the way the same woman that tried this last year, maybe next year she will succeed, third time lucky.

If she is not mentally unstable and is doing this as some sort of "stunt" to promot her comedy this is even more odious. She needs to stop being allowed into Vatican City! What if next time she has a knife next time!? You can't dismiss threats lightly.

She's unwell and should be confined and treated if she's a danger to others. If she's untreatable, she should remain confined.
