(facepalm) Is this going to go over well with Evangelical Tea Partiers? Is this just to prove that Boehner ain't no liberal atheist?

The White House invited him. That's why he'll address a joint session rather than just the House. As a head of state, it's no different than an address by Queen Elizabeth (I doubt the Japanese government would let the Emperor do it).
And with the way Francis goes on, he might make a few 'converts' out of those liberal atheists. So, probably not going to go down well with the Tea Party.
