[William is currently training to be a Royal Air Force search-and-rescue pilot.] -- well good on him. Too bad some of those low class Brits out for a good kickin wouldn't attempt something so noble. Oh who am I to want nobility from the Brits. That's long gone ages ago.

I find it very hard to believe that he actually spent a night on the streets without the presence of bodyguards and round-the-clock surveillance. However I do appreciate his efforts, and I believe him when he says that he wants to help the most vulnerable people of society (in line with the beliefs of his mother Diana).

What a stark contrast to the Imperial parasites of Japan.

At least he's doing something unlike many other rich folks. Wish more people would get off their butts and raise awareness. Any chance he'll come to Japan and do the same? Could imagine anyone from the "royal" family here doing such a thing? Of course not.

Most homeless people lay down some cardboard or something on the ground. If the prince decided to spend a few more nights outside, with no money, he'd probably do that too. I recommend he watch "Life Stinks" for more tips on roughing it.

After what William's dad did to William's mum I can think of one fellow who ought to be chucked to the curb.

Maybe William would bring him a cup of soup and a box to live in.

At least William is trying to make a difference.

This has to be the PR version of the event. In reality I bet all the adjacent garbage bins were occupied by his bodyguards, and the whole cast went home after a suitable number of pictures had been taken.

Nor could I imagine any royal family in the world for that matter. Never seen any of the Bush daughters do anything like that (except get drunk).

no compassion... they actually believe they deserve it, the bums...

True, I've also seen several French, Americans, Canadians, and Aussies say the very same thing.

Different articles online have mentioned that Prince William did have a member of security with him the whole night. They left the area around 6am (after almost getting run over whilst asleep by a garbage truck) and Prince William went to serve breakfast to homeless people at a local shelter. Hopefully he turns out to be like him Mum with regards to charity work.
