[The leader of one of the biggest legalize-pot organizations, the Marijuana Policy Project, called Kellogg’s action “hypocritical and disgusting,” and said he’d never seen his membership so angry, with more than 2,300 of them signing an online petition.] Yeah if he could only remember.... what year is it maaaannn? Get off that it's safer than beer. I wouldn't want a driver driving on beer or pot. My good Canadian friend is living proof to me. Man over there they let them drive that way too. No wonder their insurance is so high.

These ozzie hippies will get so high and get the munchies that their ban on Kellogg's products will be out the window as they gobble down boxes of cereal. Funny people these modern hippies.

I just woke up and for whatever reason I originally read the headline as "Pol Pot lobby blasts Kellogg for dropping Phelps." I thought it was a bit strange.

Well, if the contract was ending, Kellogg's might be getting unfairly singled out.
Sounds like politics. Oh, well, if we have to step on the back of Kellogg's to decriminalize marijuana, so be it. After decades of hardball from companies and the government on this, its about time the people played hardball back.
That's nice...nice strawman, since no one was supporting driving high and Phelps did not do that.

[“To drop him for choosing to relax with a substance that’s safer than beer is an outrage, and it sends a dangerous message to young people.”] This is the strawman. They say it's safer than beer. Beer is food. It relaxes, refreshes and intoxicates and makes you unable to drive. Pot is chemical smoke. It relaxes, intoxicates, causes cancer and distorts memory. Since they brought this up I'd say it's their strawman. The liberals who constantly want this to be legalized because it's "safer than beer" are really grasping at straws. or is that strawmen?

Phelps should lose his contract on the basis of sheer stupidity. What a moron. BTW where's adaydream? He should be all over this story.

Well Michael Phelps was a dumbass. He jepordized his career and livelihood on some friend.
Don't get me wrong I don't think it ought to be illegal, but I'm not being looked at by millions of kids everyday. So until it osn't, it is. < :-)

Doesn't Kelloggs know how great pot and pop tarts go together. Dont they realize its the people zoned out in front of the TV supporting their business.
Im a user but I do not condone his actions, whats that phrase "do as I say not as I do". Well look at the bright side he could always go the way of Kobe.

Fine! So you sponsor him then.

I don't see what so much attention is being put on this, its just pot. At least he wasn't doing steroids. I can't see why they would keep him if the photo was of him getting drunk and not because he has a bong in his hand.

Bah, they have a right to sponsor or not sponsor whoever they feel like. I've nothing against pot smokers (unless they come to me looking for a job) but it makes sense for a multi-national company that's consumers are mostly kids to dostance itself from Phelp's mis-demeanour.
Mostly this is the gutter press's fault with their obsession of ruining other human beingslives, and of course the intellectualy challenged readership that thrive on gossip....

Phelps needs to have all medals stripped. We have video of him doing drugs, and there is no proof that he did not do drugs prior to this. As we see with Soviet Russia and the Eastern Bloc, drugs are un-American and anti-competitive. America needs to take a stand here and strip Phelps of his medals.
