World War III : The Islamists vs. Everybody else. Only this time it won't be two organized forces going at it. It will be the developed world fighting off a growing cancer that keeps popping up everywhere.

Big difference between Chechen rebels(who just happen to be a muslim majority that want their own seperate state/country) and extremist islamic insurgents (that want to claim power under religious beliefs and want to start a "religous" war with Russia). Islam is a cancer no matter what nay-sayers want to believe. All they need to do is look at the life of the "holy" (strong sarcasm) mohammed to see what kind of sick deluded person starts a militant/political/"religious" ideology. The only muslims that are truely peaceful are the Amadiyya, and they're considered "kill and/or persecute on sight" as far as the sunni and shia are concerned cos they chose to follow a man that revised and reformed Islam to follow a more peaceful path.

Putin is such a thug, but revenge is in order. I say do whatever needs to be done.

Religion itself is a cancer if used to divide people, not any one specific religion. At a fundamental level Christianity, Islam and all the others are peaceful and seek to promote acceptance of others and living in peace with one another. Unfortunately religious simpletons of all demoninations choose to think their religion is better than another, really quite pathetic. However this is more about a region wanting independance and Russia not wanting to give it, not a religious crusade.

Tit for tat will just continue.

Putin is delusional. How does he want to take "revenge" on a growing number of people inside his country who follow an ideology the spread of which he actively encourages? Russia is going down the drain just as Western Europe, only faster.

Serious question: Do they want a separate theocratic country? If so, then they don't just happen to be a Muslim majority.
Otherwse, they do just happen to be a Muslim majority.

Russian secret service has done a very good job in 2004 assasinated then Chechen rebel leader Yandabeyev in UAE, so lets hope some more good news will be heard very soon!

Spoken like a true American. Very nice. I doubt, however, that Putin's revenge will be as shocking and unwarranted as the American revenge attacks on Iraq, Afghanistan or the shameful revenge atomic bombing of Japan.
What both Russia and the USA consistently fail at is in look for the reasons behind Islamic terrorism (as distinguished from Western terrorism as practiced by the USA).
There is no discussion of the root causes which lead to attacks (the foreign policy stance, etc); there is much planning of vengeful wars and killing. Why is this?

Wow AuntyAmerican unwarranted like America's attack on Iraq (l will give you that one) but Afghanistan and Japan l think a few people would probably argue that they were justified. What would you have them do throw their hands up and say we give up your peaceloving terrorist tactics have beaten us. As unfortunate as it is they cannot backdown and do nothing as the bad guys will see this as weakness and a victory and step the tactics up. But doing something only keeps the cicle going so what do they do? Damned if they do damned if they dont

@Aunutyamerican:fail at is in look for the reasons behind Islamic terrorism ......The rise of Islamic terrorism was during the cold war, the west using that dangerous ideologies as atool to fight the soviet military presents in afghanistan. Now those terrorists biting the one who feed them! And the worst of all, the one who was the source was unpunbished, the one I mean a very wealthy kingdom who was the No1 oil exporter and a US ally!I feel pity for those Russian civilians who suffered until now but not the west!

I'd read about the appointed governors, but I didn't know the Kremlin took over all national TV networks. I was probably too busy ready through the hundreds of articles about the POLICE STATE TSA making people take off their shoes.

Looks like I need to warm up the fingers first...

And how, exactly, Raymasaki, are you intending "fighting back"? We've had the Moscow Metro bomb, the Moscow theatre attack, the Beslan siege and now this. Ordinary Russian citizens slaughtered by the hundreds while people like you and Putin, in no danger whatsoever, call on people to "fight back". Tell you what... you go to Russia, start an anti-Ingushetia/Chechnya/Dagestan brigade with your buddy Putin and I'll consider joining you.

@Sarge
It was a suicide bomber. Should we hang his corpse, like they used to in the middle ages?

If your intention is all about "Independence " and you feel free to kill indiscriminately like this "suicide bombing", the other side will in turn feel free to kill you and whoever support you, everyone, even the so called " innocent women ,children".

NambanOnigiri:
No. It depends on the CONTENT of the religion. Some religions are purely spiritual, others are political and want to dominate others.
Saying they are all the same is like saying "political systems are a cancer" without considering what they contain.

manfromamerica
umm, "revenge" is a "tough on terrorism" stance"? Even GWBush didn't seek "revenge", just justice.

I'm pretty sure mr. Putin is of the belief that this person had conspirators and or sympathizers who knowingly collaborated and abetted or gave aid and comfort to the attacker. Thus he can exact his merciless patriotic and dutiful vengeance upon them.

Nah just defile like they still do in certain other countries.......

WilliB
AdamB:
Can explain what you mean by that? I don´t know of any "certain other country" where they "defile" corpses of suicide bombers.
