good thing they caught it, but minutes before take off... maybe her co-pilot ratted her out.

There are some jobs where you just shouldn't drink up to two days before a shift. Granted, if she just had alcohol in her system from before it's not quite the same as being drunk, but either way it puts people in danger.

since the cabin crew alerted the flight operations I assume it was not alcohol left in her blood from the previous night, but she was actually intoxicated. and that's a scary thing, FUI?

Thank god/s this fool was taken off the plane, just horrible to think of what kind of stupid accident she could have caused, drinking and driving is bad enough on the streets of any city, but with a 767??? Just plain crazy! Good on the Aussie authorities! Kudos to Qantas!

Pilots of commercial airliners only "work" during takeoff and landing.

Pretty much everything else is autopilot.

Makes me wonder what the heck they get up to in the cockpit during long flights.

Darts? Tiddlywinks?

What is it with aussies and booze, air line pilots and olympic competitors in the news over it in the last few days, but the great aussie drinker is well known and etched into the make up of stralians everywhere.

I tend to fly the 767 a little better with a couple of drink in me. But that's just me.
