I just pray for the average Iranian and their well-being. As earthquake-prone Iran continues to develop its "peaceful" nuclear program with compromised technology and inferior engineering standards, it won't only be the Iranians who suffer from large-scale releases of radioactivity when Iran has its own Fukushima.

Are the Iranians worried about their nuclear development in this earthquake prone area? There won't be any protests in Iran like the ones in Tokyo. It is really sad that poor construction of residences, businesses and other structures were allowed.

Recently there has been quite a few earthquakes occurring in the countries of the Eurasian continent including Italy.. Japan should send a rescue team and make a statement of support immediately.

Yes, I also do not understand the thumbs down to Elbuda Mexicano. Any human being should hope that the rescuers can get to the survivors as soon as possible.

Thanks Frank and Ben, it is beyond me too to not wish help to the victims and the survivors, their families suffering their in Iran, but some people are full of hate?? Iranians are people too, we may not like their religion, government etc..but that does not matter now, people are people, now Iran suffers, next it could be us in Tokyo, just like when Fukushima was hit by the quakes and tsunamis, because we just never know when it will be our turn to die, right??

You don´t know that there are nuclear facilities in the Tabriz area. And you can be sure that the sensitive enrichment and weapons facilities, which they buried deep underground to make them bomb-proof, will also withstand a 6.3 level shaker.

Unlike of course civillian structures. If the Iranian government devoted as much resources to the improvement of civilian buildings as they do to their nuclear weapons program, you can be sure that mid-level quake like this would not claim that many victims.
