The queen’s stature and enthusiasm have helped unite a diverse, diffuse organization whose member nations are home to more than 2 million people on five continents.

Isn't India part of the Commonwealth. That alone has about a billion people. Heck, even Canada and Australia have more people than that.

You're close with that last figure, @nandakandamanda. Just a typo, I think.

But it's sad, in a way, that the article doesn't say exactly WHY Her Majesty said what she did to Canada's new Prime Minister. She replied, as she did, because he toasted her at a meal, remembering he last met her in person when he was a little boy, with words like (and I paraphrase), 'Your Majesty, the last time I saw you, you were much taller than me." There was quite a bit of laughter around the table at her reply. Class, 100% class, that lady.
