People will stop reading tabloids and go back to fairy tales.

I sure wish people wouldn't buy the trash that carries these photos.

Well, finally the Royal family does something right! Hopefully they're protecting the rights of their subjects to be protected from these freaks just as vigorously.

Agreed, tell the cucuracha, I mean the paparazzi, to treat them as humans, not prey.

Well, if we're talking about what they do in the toilet, bathroom or bedroom, yes, they're entitled to a bit of privacy. But the rest of their 'everyday, private activities' - the sumptuous meals they consume, the flash cars they drive, the racy nightclubs they frequent, the shooting parties on vast estates where they kill furry or feathery creatures raised for the purpose, just for the fun of it - all these 'private' activities are funded by the taxpayer, who I feel have a right to know what their hard-earned cash is being spent on.
Royals who object to being in the spotlight can get out of it by abandoning their royal status, taking their grubby little mitts out of the privy purse and getting a proper job to support themselves.

I'd totally back her up if she punched a cameraman in the face.

As much as I support the right to privacy, cleo has some great points! But I think the line should stop at their personal relationships. Anyone not a royal should have their faces blotted out of the picture and their names withheld...by law.

I agree with Cleo.

Right on, cleo. Totally agree.
Though I also do have a problem with the method a lot of the paparazzi take to get a lot of the photos. Much of it is quite a bit of exploitation on their part, and people continue to buy into it, getting entertainment out of something that they should not have known about in the first place.

It it weren't for the paparazzi, she'd still have to be dealing with that irritating Diana. She should be thanking them.

the royal family “feel they have a right to privacy when they are going about everyday, private activities.”
Give up their titles. Problem solved.

The Pope, the Queen of England and whatever blonde Hollywood actress happens to be popular at any given moment always command media attention. I have never understood this. Reminds me of kids who peep up a woman's skirts -- what is it they expect to see?

My heart bleeds for the old dear. After such a hard life it is only right that she be able to put her feet up at home and not have to worry about nasty little commoners taking her picture, foreigners too. And it’s just not right that people should know all about those out of control louts her grandchildren have turned into, that’s a family matter.
The peasants need to remember their place, they only there to serve the royal family in exactly the way they are told. And of course pay the bills.

Second thought.
How is the old dear planning on stopping those nasty foreigners from publishing picture she would rather not have published or is she only trying to keep her own peasants in ignorance?

Leave the head of State of the British Commonwealth alone. They gave up a lot of power for a stipend from the state and am not sure if it is a lot of money. Think their real money comes from Royal investments. I think harassing the Royals is a step to abolishing the monarchy.
