How about an 80 story underground building?
Try flying a plane into that, Osama/US Govt!

Easy- to represent the great culture of the USA they should build a Walmart and Mcdonalds on the spot to show the terrorists they will never defeat the US.

How about the world's tallest flagpole?

Some people think nothing should be built there, others think something grand should be built there, even others thing something should be built but it should be understated. Any way you slice it, people are going to be ready to bitch and complain no matter what is (or isn't) built. Seems like a pretty thankless job to me.

A mosque with the tallest minarets in the world. Boy, now that would piss the Muslims off.

No that would just give the nutcases an excuse to walk into it with enough explosives to completely level new york city.

The terrorists destroyed the WTC because they hate our freedoms.
Wouldn't it be the ultimate middle finger to make Ground Zero the Amsterdam of the USA.

Wouldn't North Korea then raise their flag tower thing in reponse?
I like the middle finger idea. How about a giant hand giving the finger. Which direction to point it in though?

Leave it as a pit - it's a great symbol of the power of Islamic extremists.

Put up a huge flag pole with a white flag. After all this time, we haven't even scratched the surface in bringing Islamic Terror to an end.

Heh, methinks he's mocking the millions of Americans that incredibly did believe that particular Bushism.
Yon know I'd wager they're the same nutters that bought chemical suits and adorned their windows with duct tape on the off chance one of Saddam's drones let rip with some novelty fart gas over NYC......

I never put too much stock into Bush's words, but now that I think about it, and now that I've seen how the Taliban operates lands that they control, I guess you could say they really hate our freedomseses. It's either their way or you lose your head.

I think the lack of buildings is a touching evocation of the spirit of American efficiency.

[I like the middle finger idea. How about a giant hand giving the finger. Which direction to point it in though?] -- you took the word out of my mouth. And so did the next post. I was also thinking toward Mecca.
