At 97, she had a full life because of her family's bravery. RIP.

Died in Baltimore and is to be buried in Vermont? Why doesn't the article explain this?

    To answer SolidariTea

Died in Baltimore and is to be buried in Vermont? Why doesn't the article explain this?

I believe the answer is that the Trapp family have a ranch in Vermont where other family mambers are buried.

(Although this doesn't answer the question of why the article didn't explain this.)

sensei258, The Sound of Music was just a movie. Nobody has a clear clue why they left Austria exactly, but they left in comfort by train and no one on their heels. Why they left might have something to do with the fact that the family fortune was lost when trying to get their money out of English banks. It may have simply been too much for their pride to have to rely on singing in Austria, where they had a "von" before their name, whereas before it was just a hobby. Less shame to do it elsewhere.

Bravery? The only bravery I know of via the von Trapps is that Ludwig sank some allied military vessels via sub during WWI. More than that though he just sunk a lot of merchant vessels which is really not very brave at all. The most incredible thing about the von Trapps is that one simple movie could make them into heroes, well, for those who refuse to scratch the surface anyway.
