We're making more and more of the world unlivable through war, hate, or environmental crisis and we refuse to welcome strangers into our bosom.

Where should those guilty by association go?

The world is very poorly run. Is that because humans are too stupid or because they don't care? Really, we have 10,000 years of experience making civilization. You'd think we'd be better at it.

Lofty talk indeed. Be the change. Start with you opening your own home to them

Groan... can you explain how that claim works in real lif in your mind? I.e. why excactly should a country like SWEDEN be obliged to house and feed massive numbers from young men from Afghanistan? What has Sweden to do with anything here? Or the other popular choice destination, Germany?

Why should USA take in the desperately poor from Central and South America? The entitlement system is over burdened already.

How about this, instead of the UN and other organizations trying to tax wealthy nations with these so called "Global Warming" taxes, why don't they use the money they have by going in and start to reclaim some of these lands hit by droughts and other disasters. If the sea levels are supposedly rising because of polar ice melting, then why not start building desalinization plants and making the water fresh and start piping it to desert regions where there is little water to make them green again. There are many other solutions out there that can be done based on the technology we have, if only one would be able to by-step some of the corruption in places like the UN, as well as in some of these countries that people are fleeing from.

Also, before the usual "It's Bush's fault" and "the USA's fault" that people are fleeing, the mass numbers of migrants from the ME into Europe are the results of Muslim on Muslim wars (ISIS vs.) and not anything the West has to do with. That internal strife between the different sects of Islam has been around long before the USA was born or Europe was meddling in ME affairs.
